Classless Coach Belichick

I know, I should wait until 24-hrs. before I post. But, my emotions have the best of me at this moment. What a classless act Bill Belichick is. O.k., we're down 38 to zip late in the 2nd half and this fuck is throwing deep routes and anything else that may put more points on the board! What did we do to piss him off already?? Granted, the Pats out played us, out coached us, out scored us. Give them credit for that. They are an awesome force. But, when they had us beat, and beat bad, what did they do? They kept pouring it on. Enough! We're done. We're toast. Raise the freakin' white flag! I have never been a proponent of dirty play, but after it became apparent that Belichick was going to run up the score on the 'Skins, I would have sent the house on Brady on every single play. Yep, damn the torpedos. Even if it had caused a personal foul each and every blitz, if I were Gibbs and/or Greg Williams, I'd have pummeled Brady for Belichick's transgression. Buried his ass in the turf. Brady seemed so smug on the sidelines anyway. I only watched the end of the game to see what Gibbs' reaction would be when he met Belichick to shake hands. I was hoping for something similar to a Chuck Noll / Jerry Glanville interaction. Back in the day, Noll at least had the balls to get in Glanville's grille and let him know how he didn't appreciate how "Glandville" ran up the score on the Steelers that day. I have yet to see, or hear, any response from Gibbs after this embarrassing loss, but after the clock ran out, the camera was following Gibbs and it appeared that he simply avoided Belichick and ran off the field. Someone please tell me that I missed something and that Gibbs addressed this issue and stepped up for the team. Because if he didn't, I've lost a great amount of respect for him, and I love the guy. I had great respect for the Pats, and even Belichick, until today. I now hope they go down in a very very painful way.

They've run it up on everyone so far, it will come back to haunt them eventually.

Gibbs and Belichick shook hands following the game, and publicly he took the high road. But, I'm sure he had another stance alltogether behind closed doors to his players

Apparently Godfrey had some things to say about Belichick following the game though

Im on both sides of the fence with this...

One side definitely thinks people shouldn't complain about an opponent running up the score... If you don't like it than stop them. It was still frustrating to watch though. I am so disappointed right now.

To the contrary, the talking heads on the NFLN just stated that Gibbs did not meet Belichick on the field to shake hands and they also said that Gibbs was "alright with that." Gibbs is a revered coach for all the right reasons. He always takes the high road and I love that about him. But, after just getting your ass handed to you in the 4th worst loss in Redskins history by a butt head that could have pulled the reigns in a little bit, I believe it would have motivated his team to give Belichick a piece of his mind. But, Gibbs chose otherwise and I wish he'd spoken up.

Pats Score Often in 52-7 Rout, But Did They Cross the Line? - washingtonpost.com

"Gibbs glared. After the game, he barely shook Belichick's hand as he raced off the field."

And then there's this

Re: Classless Coach Belichick

I believe in karma. This will eventually come around on them. Sooner or later he'll leave Brady in there to run up the score and someone's going to get through that line and end The Golden Boy's career.

And the thing is, Belichick NEVER looks happy. Ever. I don't think he even really knows how to enjoy a win.

I believe Joe probably sleeps a lot better at night than Ol' Sweats does.

Re: Classless Coach Belichick

While the Redskins had some high scoring games in Gibbs' first tenure, he never ran the score up like this. If we had 30+ point lead heading into the 4th quarter, the back ups were put in or we just ran the ball to eat the clock away.

Re: Classless Coach Belichick

Belichick did exactly what he should have done. When a team self-destucts on the field of battle the opposition has absolutely no obligation to slow down. If the Skins had an opportunity to do this it would have been the right thing to do as well, but I think we all know that's not how it would play out. Hence the difference between teams with a killer instinct and teams without one. Belichick is a guy I respected but never liked. After today I respect him a little more.

Not sure how you can respect him. Somebody else said it well, I thought: great coach, not such a great person. I happen to think you ought to strive to be both.

God Bless you.

Bill did not run up the score. Its up to those guys on defense that get paid millions of dollars to not allow that to happen. I don't care if its 50-0 going into the 4th quarter. Tom Brady and the rest get paid millions of dollars to play. Their fans want to see them and deserve to see them play the whole game. When the QB change happened what did the skins do? Let the qb run in for a freaking score. What did the skins overpaid offense do jack shi*.

Please. Coming from any other fan, i'd say okay, but not y'all. I so recall the faint grumblings, in the stands, from Cowboy fans that Gibbs ran up the score after the 35-7 game in Dec 2005.

Wasn't me, nor did I do it after the Pats game. Running up the score does not exist in pro football. It barley is applies to College. The only time it applies to college is when UF is playing Gardner Webb. Its obvious that there is a major talent on one team and not the other. For UF to score 60 to there 3 is running up the score. If its UF vs USC and UF scores 60 and USC scores 3 it is not because those second and third string kids deserve to score a td if they can against a team that is on there level. Pro football everyone is PROFESSIONAL. IF your fav team just happens to get anal raped then maybe some of those players and coaches are in the wrong profession.
