Re: 2010 NFL Preseason
I've realized that I'm not to crazy about stadiums without a backdrop and/or a few creative structures. The New Giants Stadium seems like a shinier version of the old one, in that it's a giant bowl meant to seat as many people as possible. Our stadium is similar in that it's really just a giant bowl.
Right now I'd say that for me, the Ravens, Steelers, Titans, Patriots, Buc's, and Seahawks are among the nicest stadiums in the NFL. At least in terms of how it looks on TV. Ugliest include the Rams, Vikings, Saints, Raiders, and Dolphins are among the worst for me.
I agree. A stadium needs some unique character. Is that too much to ask? |
Re: 2010 NFL Preseason
Oakland has the worst looking stadium by far. And the superdome really needs upgrades. Tampas is the nicest I've been to
Sorry CP, Sanchez will be better than JC, but no Peyton Manning or Tom Brady. He might end up better than Eli though. He has a nice arm and will do well for himself, but he isn't going to get the Jets into the SB anytime soon.
Never said he was destined to be a first-ballot HoFmer, but Jay Cutler has more than enough ability to smoke these two fellas all the way to the moon should everything go right for him. Anyway, Jets fans have more to worry about their defense being overwhelmed because they're too blitz-happy than Sanchez bringing his maggot game because he ain't gonna be a maggot for much longer. |

I was referring more to injuries since Martz tends to let his QBs take a heavy punishment. Cutler has a rocket arm, accurate, "nerdy" in that he pays attention to details, and can move the pocket well. He's got the physical and mental gifts to take the league by storm (again). Watch, those no-name Chicago receivers will be making the highlight reels week after week. |

It's no coincidence that the worst decade in terms of style, building materials, and color use ended up producing the ugliest stadiums. - Kingdome - Pontiac Silverdome - Three Rivers Stadium - Veterans Stadium - Texas Stadium - Ralph Wilson Stadium - Superdome To me all of these were/are the ugliest stadiums in the league and it's no coincidence that they were all built in the 70's. To me Arrowhead is the only nice stadium to have been completed in the 70's and survived long enough to still look nice. The old Giants stadium was also decent but nothing special. It's funny to because the oldest stadiums in terms of ambiance and atmosphere still looked much better then their 70's counterparts. The two most tenured being Lambeau and Solider Field. Qualcomm is pretty nice as well, at least on TV. I've heard that San Diego really needs a new stadium. RFK also looked pretty nice, though it to was nothing really special in terms of architecture. Still I don't cringe when I see cut away shots on old highlight reels. |

Re: 2010 NFL Preseason
Peter King says Haslett told him he expects Big Al to play about 65% of snaps. King should have a report up soon on his visit to Skins camp today. Should be pretty positive, heavy praise for both Shanahans, concern about WRs
