Re: T.J. Duckett?
I'd much rather see the Skins develop Sellers into the short-yardage/goalline guy than overspend on Duckett. Sellers is more than capable of doing the job, and he won't grumble about not being the featured back, which could be a problem with Duckett. I think the current runningback group of Portis as featured back, Betts as relief back, and Sellers as fullback/jumbo-back will be effective. They just need to give Sellers a shot.

Re: T.J. Duckett?
i just don't think duckett is all that great. otherwise, why would they be so eager to toss him when their starting RB is so old?

Exactly, Duckett is simply not bad. Trading Betts or Patten for Duckett doesn't gain us anything except one more former Redskins player mouthing off to the media about how unprofessional our organization is. |
Re: T.J. Duckett?
Why does it seem like we're always wanting to sign anyone available?

Re: T.J. Duckett?
This rumor could say a lot of different things. Portis injury may be a little more serious, or have the potential to be more of a problem than they are letting us know. secondly, the staff may not be as pleased with Betts as they were at the beginning of camp. He (AGAIN) is complaining of being hurt, or nicked up, which he is every year. 3rd, nemo is obviously not meeting the expectations of what the invisioned when they drafted him. I remember hearing he was going to be our "change of pace, the pounder" I am also wondering if betts has generated enough interest from a couple of teams that we are getting a decent trade as far as a pick goes, and we are trying to get someone who they may have a little more interest in, meaning Duckett. I think I would prefer Duckett. Betts seems to always be hurt. He can't be an every down player. Duckett on the other hand, is big, can run between the tackles and for a big guy, has pretty good speed.

Re: T.J. Duckett?
I dont know what propaganda you all are spreading or why you want to start this but to entertain the idea of this would make me bust my load.
Should this transpire I will buy 100 bottles of Kristel and rent Puff Daddy for the evening and the whole crew of WP is invited to flick pennies at him while we drink bubbly. |
Re: T.J. Duckett?
I like DUcket as a short yardage back...he is better at it then Betts or Portis. Maybe then we will stop lining up in shot gun formation on 3rd & 1...

Re: T.J. Duckett?
I dont know why I would think we would get him. Have we forgotten that next year money will be tight ? Betts will need to be resigned, Cooley, Marshall, and Duckett are all in need new contracts.
Duckett like the rest mentioned have all earned the right to a better check. There just isnt enough to go around but if I had to choose between Betts or Duckett obviously Duckett has been more productive but I dont know really how Saunders Offense works he may go TJ , Damn, I hate speculation now Im all excited over nothing. |
