Heck, we just need guys to throw the ball consistantly and accurately and guys to catch the ball consistantly and score. I don't care what name is on the jersey.

We can't go after a high priced free agent especially at WR, although I do feel we should cut bait with Gardner no matter how he finishes the season, we should get whatever we can for him but I don't think we will do better than a possible 3rd rd pick, William's would be a nice WR but he would cost us he is a top 10 pick, I don't see us taking someone in the top 10 I believe we will deal down and look for quantity rather than the high priced top 10 pick, If Wilson play's well sunday that could spell the end for Samuel's unless he is willing to renegotiate big time, if it's me I trade off both Samuels and Gardner for as many pick's as possible then deal down into the mid to late 1st round with our #1 and see what's available.

Porter really only had that one good year, when everything was clicking for that Raiders offense.

Last year he, along with several other Raider players, went out to the media and bad mounted Bill Callahan in public. I've heard, though I can't confirm, that Porter has done the same thing with Norv Turner this year.

One thing you never hear Gardner do is bad mouth any coach or player in public.

Did anyone else hear the interview when they were talking to Mcants and he was talking about Ramsey? When asked about his first catches this season he said something like "Ramsey knows me and knows where I like the ball". That my friends is what we are missing. We have all the talent that we need, especially at wide reciever. We just need to get these guys to all know the system and each other so well that they can just go out there and concentrate on dominating their opponent.

For the last couple of years, the "conventional wisdom" was the Jerry Porter was being held down by having Tim Brown and Jerry Rice ahead of him in terms of playing WR. Last year, Porter was injured for most of the year and when Brown was let go earlier this year the "conventional wisdom" said this would allow Porter to blossom.

Now Rice is gone too and Porter has done nothing to distinguish himself. Maybe - just maybe - he is a really good #3 receiver and not much more?

I guess it's mostly that I get a bad vibe about him... He was all set to be the Raiders #1 this year, but there were rumors that he didn't work very hard (hard to believe when you've had Jerry Rice as a mentor). And the results? Only 1 game over 100 yards.

This was one of the stories that gave me a bad feel:
EEICH, why do you say he's bad news? Have you heard anything? I'm just asking because I haven't heard anything too negative about him.
dont matter what he is; we dont need any receivers now. we need TIME and maybe some dudes on the DL.
