Then trade him for 2 picks, a six pack and a Superbowl Trophy.
Honestly, if we pick Quinn I'd need that 6 pack. I see Campbell as having the intangibles that you want in a QB. He has the skill and the arm, but also seems to be at his best under pressure. That is why am excited about te offense for 2007. |

Re: How do we think Jason will perform in his first starting season?
JC will perform well. He's ready. Now we will see more deep balls and hopefully that will turn into quick scores. Our offense will be much better than what we saw the first 9 weeks last year.

Re: How do we think Jason will perform in his first starting season?
I think with Portis and Betts both healthy we'll be a run-first offense, even more so than we were last year. I also think that with Fletcher making the calls in the middle of the D, the defense will improve to at least mediocre levels.
Both of those factors play a role in Campbell's production. I think he'll do decently, but won't throw for an amazing number of TDs because we'll get most on the ground. 56% completion, 3100 yards, 18 TDs, 12 INTs |
Re: How do we think Jason will perform in his first starting season?
I think he's going to show remarkable poise under pressure, and people will start to say "Hey, maybe the coaching staff actually knew it was doing easing him and not throwing him into the fire from day one"
|
Re: How do we think Jason will perform in his first starting season?
I think he will complete closer to 59% for 3,600 yards 17 TDs and 15 INTs.

I'm not so sure that optimism will prevail around here.
He will be playing for the Raiders so who cares. Just joking. If he steps it up one or two more notches we will be a very dangerous team.
Re: How do we think Jason will perform in his first starting season?
I really see his interceptions a lot higher then that - He through a few last season and liked to throw them at Auburn. I like him and all I just wouldnt be too optomistic.
As Matty pointed out, his last 3 starts he only had 1 INT to 4 TDs. I think our rushing attack will open things up for him. If we run first and don't put JC in a position to lose games for us, he'll be just fine. With Betts and Portis healthy we should run in the neighborhood of 30-35 times a game. If you figure 10-12 INT's and around 22 TDs, that's pretty solid without being overly optimistic. |
Re: How do we think Jason will perform in his first starting season?
Considering he only threw 6 INTs in his first 7 NFL starts I don't see why that ratio would increase as he gains more experience. I was impressed with how he didn't force the issue last year, but he was still aggressive in spots when he needed to be.

agreed, he really didn't look like a guy playing in his first starts, he looked more like a vet on a struggling team. His first pass of the year was somewhat fitting, he hits Loyd w/a perfect deep ball but he drops it. That was symbolic of the kind of year it was, but he kept improving despite the team playing without the fire they should've. Loyd I think could be a big part of his progress. If he can be counted on JC can really open it up. |

I think with ARE, Cooley, Lloyd, and Moss all having the offseason/training camp to build rapport with JC will be extremely beneficial. I think he is the type of QB with whom Lloyd can be effective. JC has the cannon to throw those deep outs and crosses, which are the types of routes that Lloyd found success with in SF. |
Re: How do we think Jason will perform in his first starting season?
I really honestly think Jason Campbell is a robot.
Joe Gibbs feigned working in Nascar, when actually he was undergoing one of the greatest cover ups in NFL history. He needed a prototype QB, someone he could build his team around. He wanted to come back to the NFL big time. He had the real Jason Campbell disappear, and used modern technology to create a perfect quarterback. Notice Jason Campbell's lack of emotion. He never smiles, cringes, reacts, or shows any inclination to human empathy. His dialogue is eerily similar to Coach Gibbs. "I always find a strong Bible verse that’s going to give me strength to go out and do what I need to do that day. I always ask Pastor Brett or someone that I know that can know how to give me good scripture to read for the upcoming game." -Jason Campbell His poise in the pocket, passing accuracy, and incredible scrambling illusiveness is just a fraction of evidence to support my theory. He will have a very good 2007, there is no question. What we really need to do is watch out for him in 2027. |
