How do we think Jason will perform in his first starting season?

If the last 5 or so games of last season is going to be any indication of Jason's performance in the future, I think we have our guy at QB. I really think he made a statement coming in with such a calmness to him, and his athletic tools to be really good are there. (arm, legs, size, brain)

I was also really impressed with the shoot he took in the Giants game when it looked like he was out for the count, then before you could blink he was right back out there. What a statement.....and hopefully a lesson learned.

Honestly i think it has more to do with how the offensive line performs, if they cant keep him off his butt, then its going to be a long season. With that said, if he gets time, hes money. I think he will be one of the best young QBs in the league next year, not to many have the composure he does, hes a gamer. If Portis and Betts run wild next year look for Campbell to make the pro bowl, he has too many weapons around him to fail.

I can see Campbell in the low to mid 20's for td's and around 3500 yards.
I think his accuracy needs to improve, but he has had the entire offseason to work on memorizing routes and looking over film of his WR's. If he can manage a comp of 57%, we'll look very good.

They do have some great weapons around him and another year of learning the offence is going to help. Also the fact that he will be working with the first team in practice to get their timing down will have a huge impact. I think our offence will be great this year. The defense has a few holes but I think this offseason was managed a lot better then in years past.. it was actually kind of nice not hearing everyday how the Skins have signed this guy or that.

Re: How do we think Jason will perform in his first starting season?

Of course that goes without saying, the weapons he has available to him.....my goosh. The tandem in the backfield, at least two of the recievers, one heck of a TE in COOOOOLEY, Big Mike, and if the O-Line can pick up where they left off..........he should be in GREAT shape.

I think the time on the field last season in conjunction with his off season program, he's really going to hit the note this season.

His is going to be awesome. I'm not just saying that and I don't have time to go into it right now, but I have a very good feeling his is going to lead us to the playoffs and possibly deep in the playoffs. That is to say as long as that defense hold up. WHICH IT WILL!!! HAIL!!!!

He will be playing for the Raiders so who cares. Just joking. If he steps it up one or two more notches we will be a very dangerous team.

Again, the line really defines the quarterback's ability. The glory days of the Hogs proved this. Average quarterbacks taking the Redskins all the way to the Super Bowl. I think Jason has all of the physical skills and a good knowledge of the game. I hope he can improve on his release time, but his legs will be good at buying him more time.

Hail to the Redskins!!

Re: How do we think Jason will perform in his first starting season?

I see around 22-25 TDs, 3200-3500 yds, 10-12 ints. I think he will be the second best QB in our division behind McNabb (if McNabb can stay healthy). Someone on this site said "Eli Manning = Billy Ripken." I love that analogy. I say Eli Manning is John Kitna with a flashy last name. And I think Tony Romo is about as overrated as any player in the league. Now that D-coordinators finally have some film on him, he will struggle (I hope).

You know this is the first time since high school JC has worked under the same offensive coordinator for 2 straight years?? I think he has all the tools and the supporting cast to be a very good starting QB. He's the player I'm most excited about this year, regardless of who we draft.

Re: How do we think Jason will perform in his first starting season?

I think that he will be a solid QB. He will not or will ever be spectacular, but he will be reasonably productive. He will not have many picks, will have a low to avg completion rate, a low to avg amount of tds, but will be able to throw one heack of a deep ball. Basically, i think his mid and short game will need some work, and he will need to work on his speed of release and speed of processing, but he will not make many mistakes and will have a great deep ball.

Re: How do we think Jason will perform in his first starting season?

I think Campbell is going to have a nice year this year. Nothing spectacular, but a very constant good year. He made some good decisions last year and he is definitely not afraid to throw the ball deep. I also agree about the offensive line, but I think we have a solid line to protect Jason. His season will be based a lot on how well we run the ball this year. Between a hopefully healthy Portis and Betts, we shouldn't have a problem in the running game. Between Randle El, Moss, Cooley, and Portis out of the backfield, Jason has the weapons to throw to.

Re: How do we think Jason will perform in his first starting season?

I'm not much on making predictions, but to witness the maturation process of Jason Campbell continue is the main reason I look foreward to going to games this coming season. As a matter of fact, he's the main reason why I'm anxious for the season to start.
