Re: Which QB Fits Best?
I disagree on the dirty Sanchez comments. I think if had a decent OC instead of BS that he would do better just like Alex Smith.

However looking at NFL.com:
#16 Mark Sanchez #18 Jay Cutler #25 Sam Bradford #26 Rex Grossman This is how their being rated so far by STATS. for you stat minded fans. Ok. I'm wrong about Cutler. Sorry folks. But personally seeing what Sanchez can do and looking at his bad year this year I'd take Sanchez. Funny though even with his bad year this year his record is better then the rest. |
Re: Which QB Fits Best?
Cutler. When he's had good receivers, and an oline, he's been great (Denver).
When he's had no oline and barely any good receivers, he's been good enough to keep his team in the game (Chicago). Imagine him in Chicago with a good OLine and atleast one above-good receiver. Now Bradford, imagine him with a Solid receiver he'd be good as well, but he doesn't have the arm or experience of Cutler, however he does have better accuracy. |

I agree, but its hard to make any excuses when hes srounded by so much talent. Maybe the kids of legardary offensive cordinators just dont make for good offensive cordinators themselves? Like it skips a generation or something.... |

Re: Which QB Fits Best?
Cutler and it's not even close. 3 years in the system and proven production. Keep in mind his best statistical year under Shanny came when he played with undiagnosed type 1 diabets. He also led the Bears to the NFC championship and an NFC North title in spite of having a porous offensive line. And now in a year where the NFC North is absolutely stacked he has them in position to return to the playoffs. For God's sake he's succeeding at QB in a city that has had worse luck at the position then us.

Re: Which QB Fits Best?
are you kidding me with this question ? CUTLER .. looking back it's a damn shame we weren't able to land that SOB .. he was a freaking beast with Shanny .. damn that would have lined up nice .. oh well ... Barkley to the Skins' in 2012

I hate to say it and I know you have to build a team but right now Cutler would have a bigger impact here then Williams and Orakpo combined. |
I don't quite know who I would choose.
But I do find it kind of interesting we've had weeks of "Mike needs to take the offense back from Kyle." "Mike's offense runs the ball, Kyle's doesn't." Etc And yet the rationale a lot of people have here for Cutler is his experience in Mike's offense. Do you assume then that if Cutler were here Kyle wouldn't be the OC? |

Wait a min. I'm only throwing out the site because some one mentioned that Cutler has better stats then Grossman. I've been proven wrong. I'll happily take my lump, but don't decide because the stats don't make you happy or prove your point then they list should be thrown out. I don't like the list either, but those are this years stats. I'll presume your not a stat driven person like me. I like to think there is a lot more to look at in a QB then stats and I can understand if thats the case why you'd think the list is junk but it is what it is. |

So "if" MS was going to take OC over then I'd imagine we fans would only know by how the offense is either running more or running his style of plays. I doubt we would see any changes in titles and it probably would be for giving KS more experience. In other words nothing would change just MS would be calling the plays from his mike on the sideline vs. KS calling the plays. None of us would know and most likely only the players would know. |
Re: Which QB Fits Best?
Tough decision between Bradford and Cutler...I'll take Cutler. Rocket arm(for real) and can throw it long or short. Comfortable in and out of the pocket. His mobility helps his OL. Also knows how to sell that play action since Mike coached him. Maybe just a tad overaggressive, but who knows, maybe he's matured a bit.

Re: Which QB Fits Best?
Does Cutler fit best or is he just the one on the list currently having the best season? A year ago at this time, I think Bradford would be leading the polls on this question.
And here's why I wouldn't go with Cutler: he has had trouble handling adversity. And there's a LOT of adversity to handle here in Washington. Sure, Shanahan liked Cutler and drafted him, and perhaps as a player he would fit better than Bradford, but DC is not a city to play in for players with fragile psyches. |
