He had some serious character issues coming out of the draft. Didn't he miss a meeting with a team cause he went out and get drunk the night before? He was the best QB but it was just too much for a risk. |

I'm also giving some smack to Sam Huff. I listened to the game on my way to the sportsbar. He just needs to stop making a fool of himself and retire.

Sam Huff is awful. Having listened to many radio color commentators around the nation I would say that Sam Huff is the absolute worst. And, as I've mentioned before, he takes frequent naps during the game and it shows. People seem to be afraid to fire him but it's long, long, long overdue. And it would be to his benefit. He's one of the greatest football players ever. He revolutionized the linebacker position. Yet there's a whole generation of Redskins fans that will only remember him as this buffoon on the radio. He can't handle the grind of weekly NFL games. Let him do some feature pieces for Redskins.com, give his opinion in weekly round tables. But get him off the radio during the game. |

Although I don't think he and Sonny could work together. Or even Doc?? Anyone but Huff! |

Well Doc has been kind of serving as a bit of a sideline reporter so he could conceivably be the next man up. |
Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Redskins vs. Dolphins)
Kyle S: “Daddy why can’t we win a game”
Daddy S: “Cause I’m a washed up old coach, and I’ve built a pile of crap for a team”. Kyle S: “Daddy what’s a Mormon ,Moron, and MF’er cause the team keeps calling me and my quarterbacks those names and it makes us mad.” Daddy S: “Beck is the Mormon, you and Beck are the other two, it’l be ok they’re cool nicknames, I get called those all the time too.” Kyle S: “Daddy did you see what those Cowboys did the Bills, Daddy we didn’t even score on those guys, I’m skeerd ,what are we gona do” Daddy S: “Shut the hell up and let me think for a minute, and go get me a Diablo samich and a Dr. Pepper and some hush puppies for Mr. Snyder” |
Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Redskins vs. Dolphins)
I'm not sure if Beck is a fit for any NFL caliber system. He just can't process the info fast enough to play in this league, regardless of his physical skills .
Agree, but with his mobility in a run/PA system it would help limit how bad he sucks.

Yeah, his retirement is long overdue. He was an awesome linebacker. He was a great radio analyst in the '80's. But nowadays he just detracts from the broadcast big time. |
Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Redskins vs. Dolphins)
Think next week I have $100 riding on the game.

Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Redskins vs. Dolphins)
At this point I think our only chance of another win is 12/24 (minn @home).
Really what a sad sad season. |
Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Redskins vs. Dolphins)
I still cheer for this team but I hardly watch the games anymore, have not bought any merchandise of theirs in years, and never defend them. If someone comes up to me and says they suck I am like they sure do!
Honestly if not for this web site and the core posters on here I probably would have dumped the Skins by now. I quite honestly don't see a light at the end of the tunnel or anything that makes me believe we are on the right path. I was a MS support but he has done nothing but make this team worst. Look at SF for example and what they have done with a college coach in their first year. What a sad state of affairs. |

Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Redskins vs. Dolphins)
I know I beat this drum at least a few times a season, but I'm going to once again lay the smack down on our pathetic local radio broadcasting team, Sonny, Sam Huff, and Larry Michael.
Sam Huff is so done. It's a total embarrassment, and at this point the Redskins need to remove him from the booth for his own dignity. He's literally a mix of drunk and senile. I just heard a clip of him on the radio- when Rex threw the INT to Dansby, Sam said "my gosh that's his 4th INT!" He just has no idea. |
