Cardinals new logo

What do you think?

Daseal 01-27-2005 11:27 PM

Looks like the old one?

SmootSmack 01-27-2005 11:40 PM

looks almost identical

here's an article about the logo change

Daseal 01-27-2005 11:43 PM

They gave the card a little hair gel and a badass attitude (which is shown via the black outline!)

DCopper04 01-27-2005 11:52 PM

Honestly, was this change needed? Will they benefit from this in any way? Seems sorta superficial to me.

All they need now is a big bushy afro, and Moss will be dying to be traded to the Cards. Adding the slogan "Straight cash, homey" to the logo would top it off quite nicely.

Dirtbag 01-28-2005 12:29 AM

Reminds of when the Seahawks switched to a slightly-more-intimidating, sleeker bird logo a couple years back. Eages did it to their helmets recently, too.

PSUskinsfan11 01-28-2005 12:59 AM

looks exactly like louisville

aehs77 01-28-2005 02:07 AM

i must say i like the cardinals more now that they are out of the east

SKINSnCANES 01-28-2005 02:56 AM

i wouldnt have known that it was new if i wasnt looking at both side by side. but i guess its better, i just dont know if the team is tougher, lol

Shane 01-28-2005 04:40 AM

It's a goofy looking bird either way but it looks worse as an angry goofy bird. What a dumb helmet design - a big cartoon cardinal. I guess the Cardinals is not a great name for a football team to begin with. Personally I would change the helmet entirely and put something to do with the state of Arizona on it - some play on their state flag perhaps - and change the uniforms with it. They have a cool state flag actually.

MTK 01-28-2005 08:32 AM

They are going to be changing the uniforms too.

Are there any actual Cardinals in Arizona? I guess it's no worse than Rams being in St. Louis.

EEich 01-28-2005 08:57 AM

Reminds me when MD changed the terrapin logo. I liked the older happy turtle logo better.

irish 01-28-2005 09:07 AM

Its not exactly like Louisville because Louisville's logo shows the bird gritting its teeth and the teeth can be seen.

Gmanc711 01-28-2005 09:31 AM

Its the same thing the Falcons did. The Birds dont want to be "too nice" so they just shape it a little different, but its alright.

TheMalcolmConnection 01-28-2005 10:11 AM

Kind of hard to make a Cardinal tough though...don''t you think?

Daseal 01-28-2005 10:37 AM

Malcolm - do you live in Virginia? Those little bastard birds dive bomb me every day on the way to my car!

SmootSmack 01-28-2005 10:39 AM
Malcolm - do you live in Virginia? Those little bastard birds dive bomb me every day on the way to my car!
hmmm...maybe a better logo would have been the birds in "action"

Bozzy 01-28-2005 10:44 AM

They de-pussified their logo just like the Eagles...lol

Bozzy 01-28-2005 10:44 AM

and ravens

irish 01-28-2005 12:27 PM

The cardinal is the state bird of VA. But the eagle is not the state bird of PA, the ruffed grouse is.

RedskinRat 01-28-2005 12:38 PM
Malcolm - do you live in Virginia? Those little bastard birds dive bomb me every day on the way to my car!
Ok, so those Cardinals have some offense....The ones in Zona don't.

Riggo44 01-28-2005 01:25 PM
looks exactly like louisville
Yup that's what I thoght.

Beemnseven 01-28-2005 03:38 PM

Well, it's about damn time they did something with that logo. Still, there's just not a whole lot you can do with the Cardinals.

I thought, given their recent history, they would scrap the whole thing and change their name, colors and everything. Just start completely over.

Arizona Rattlers maybe? Arizona Outlaws?

Now if the Colts would get more interesting, and the Titans reiterate what exactly they are -- plus get a new logo, everything will be fine.

jdlea 01-29-2005 12:53 AM

Why does everybody's bird have to look "tough?" They stole the Falcons idea all the way.

madisonwm 01-29-2005 12:57 AM

almost same old and same old

Not many things are consistant in today's society, but the Arizona Cardinals defy all rationale and common sense by being terrible every year. And I am sure if the Niner's had played the cards 16 times last season they could give the fins a run for the perfect record. This new logo is almost the same and the cardinals still stay as the same old stinky birds.

SKINSnCANES 01-29-2005 01:02 AM

the old falcons logo wasnt tought was it? the ravens might have been one of the first tough ones. The eagles will always be pussies in my mind, i dont care what their logo is. and i cant recall off the top of my head how tough the seahawks is now and hwat their old one looks like

sportscurmudgeon 01-29-2005 05:37 PM

The Arizona Cardinals do not need a tougher looking logo nor do they need "edgier" uniforms - to be unveiled at a later date.

What they need are tougher players who have an edge...

skinsguy 01-29-2005 05:55 PM

Yeah it's basically just a suttle change such as the Eagles' logo.
Makes me wonder if the Redskins will ever decide to update their logo? I like the current logo, wouldn't mind them doing the curled feather like they did in '82.....

BleedBurgundy 01-30-2005 12:17 AM

They need to lose the white helmets. They could at least look good while losing.

skinsfanthru&thru 01-30-2005 11:12 AM
looks exactly like louisville
same thing I was thinking

TheMalcolmConnection 01-30-2005 09:37 PM

Daseal, DUDE I know exactly what you're saying. I'm not going to say or NOT say that I sometimes end up hurting them, but you can just use your imagination. Those bastards piss me off.

So many updates while I was out of town on job interview, it's going to take me like 12 work hours to catch up!
