Re: Dallas Week Matchup: Cooley vs. Witten
Cooley has to be No.1 just by that picture alone. Seriously, there is no other tight end in the NFL I would rather have on our team. He is not the greatest blocker, but he has good hands and does not go down easy. He's the kind of guy, who when he catches the ball, you stand up because it may be a touchdown.

Re: Dallas Week Matchup: Cooley vs. Witten
It was so annoying how Madden wouldnt shut up about Jason Witten in the dallas/philly game. He kept saying that Witten is the best TE in the league. Considering that Madden is slowly slipping into sinility, I don't buy anything he says. Cooley was drafted lower than Witten and has more touchdowns in less time.

Re: Dallas Week Matchup: Cooley vs. Witten
witten had a billion yards last year (it's true, look it up - exactly 1 billion), and he's a better blocker by far.
i think cooley is a better receiver and better after the catch (breaking tackles, not outrunning guys). I wouldn't trade either, but witten's no slouch. |

Also I wouldnt say Witten is a better blocker by far. Cooley blocks when asked to, and has a lot of experience playing all over (H-back, tight end, wideout). Another thing, is Cooley even as a rookie had a natural ability to read defenses and find the holes in zones, which this west coast hybrid is heavily predicated upon. |
Re: Dallas Week Matchup: Cooley vs. Witten
Sorry guys right now Witten it's the best all around TE he's the best blocker and a superb reciever I like Cooley a lot (well actually hate because he always makes us look foolish) I think right now Cooley it's #5-#6 as TE go.
If you go by all around TE Witten is the best if you just go by receiving TE then A.Gates takes the top spot. |

You have Witten as the best and Cooley somewhere around 6. I'm sure if someone asked you, the cowboys would have 13 guys that are the best at thier posistion. obsurd. |
Re: Dallas Week Matchup: Cooley vs. Witten
Yeah thats a big surprise huh? The rest of the league might as well not play. The cowgirls have the best players at every position. This s**t gets old.

In his career of games against the Skins: 2007 - 2/24yds/0 TD , 8/67/0 2006 - 5/50/0 , 4/45/0 2005 - 4/41/1, 4/35/0 2004 - 6/50/0, 3/22/1 2003 - 0/0/0, 0/0/0 TOTAL - 10 games, 36 catches/334 yds (33.4 avg), 2 TDs Career total : 82 games, 21 TDs Cooley vs. Dallas: 8 games, 30 catches/357 yds (44.6 avg), 5 TDs Career total : 67 games, 27 TDs Cooley is much more versatile too. Re: Dallas Week Matchup: Cooley vs. Witten
Cooley dates cheerleaders. Witten dates Romo.

Re: Dallas Week Matchup: Cooley vs. Witten
I really have to agree here. NO ONE can make the argument that Witten is the best TE in the game.
Cooley, Witten, Gates and a younger Gonzo all should be about tied for number one. |

Witten is probably the best TE in the league right now and 'drafted lower' is kind of splitting hairs (Witten 3rd/69 overall in 2003, Cooley 3rd/81 overall in 2004). The thing that gets me about Witten is that he seems like a bit of a dullard (I'm a f-f-football player). Obviously impressionistic (I'm sure the Dallas fans will be quick to respond), but he certainly does not have the personality of Cooley (who does some dumb things but you can tell there is some intelligence there, and he is funny most of the time). Anyway, I wouldn't trade Cooley for Witten obviously and actually the numbers are pretty close (and, in fairness, Witten was putting up numbers before T.O. got there ... if anything that first year T.O. stole some TDs from him). I don't think we need to go off and so Cooley is soooo much better than Witten (or vice versa), neither is a valid argument. |
Re: Dallas Week Matchup: Cooley vs. Witten
We don't even use Cooley that well.
|
Re: Dallas Week Matchup: Cooley vs. Witten
I think Cooley's production will only increase as the season goes on. After a slow start in week one he's caught 12 passes in the last two games. I'm predicting an 80 catch season for him.

Re: Dallas Week Matchup: Cooley vs. Witten
All I want to know is how in the heck does Cooley get his facemask on over that honker of a schnaz he has? That think has its own zip code.
That is why he is so good in inclement weather, he justs puts his hands under his nose to keep them dry in the rain. Do they put his helmet on first and then attach the facemask or something? |
