Big Game QB with 2 Minutes Left

With all the inevitable, and probably appropriate, comparisons of Tom Brady to Joe Montana I'm wondering which QB (from all time) would you guys want on your team down by 6, at your own 10, in the Super Bowl with 2 minutes left?

Bozzy 01-28-2005 10:46 AM

Elway, no doubt

BDBohnzie 01-28-2005 11:03 AM

John Elway was the King of the 2 Minute Drive. I'd take him to direct a 2 minute drill every day of the week, twice on Sunday, and never look back. Not to displace Montana, Favre, Brady, et al., but Elway was magical. When the pressure was on, he stepped up brillantly.

Marino!

Danny Wuerfel!

Nah just playin. I gotta go w/ Joe Montana. I grew up watching him and I will never forget that drive against the Bengals.

John Elway is the comeback king, but Joe Montana in my opinion is the better all around quarterback. I hated the 49ers but always enjoyed watching him play....he always seemed calm cool and collected!

John Elway. I agree w/ skinsguy, if I had to pick a QB to build my team with, I'd pick Montana, but if I'm down 6 from my own 10 w/ 2:00 left... you gotta take Elway, no doubt.

Joe Cool all the way.

Brady is quickly becoming a close second though.

I was never a huge fan of Elway.

I'm gonna take the new school in Brady. The man can just flat out get it done.

irish 01-28-2005 12:28 PM

Montana. Always came through in the clutch and never threw an int in the playoffs.

Daseal 01-28-2005 01:13 PM

Actually, I might take Manning!

Riggo44 01-28-2005 01:14 PM

Joe Montana lived for the 2 min drill!! Brady has been the best since Montana. But He needs to keep it up for a few more years.
John Elway was great. But He didn't win sh-t untill Terrell Davis showed up.And Farve is amazing but throws way to many pic's to be a great 2 min drill QB.
I would rate them
#1 Motana
#2 Brady
#3 Elway
#4 Farve
But really there all H.O.F'ers I would take all of them over any of are old QB's!!!

hello heath shuler

If I could take one QB in his prime to build a team around, it's gotta be Montana hands down. Best QB to have played the game IMO.
Montana. Always came through in the clutch and never threw an int in the playoffs.
never threw an INT in the Super Bowl...but did throw plenty of INTs during the playoffs

Montana Postseason Stats (23 games, 16-7 W-L Record):
463-732 (63%), 5772 yds, 44 TDs, 21 INTs (2 Rushing TDs)

Elway Postseason Stats (22 games, 14-8 W-L Record):
355-650 (55%), 4964 yds, 27 TDs, 21 INTs (6 Rushing TDs)

As others have said, if I had to build a team, I'd take Montana hands down. However, with the game on the line, no one did more times than Elway.

matter of opinion of course...can claim plenty for both...
