Big Game QB with 2 Minutes Left
With all the inevitable, and probably appropriate, comparisons of Tom Brady to Joe Montana I'm wondering which QB (from all time) would you guys want on your team down by 6, at your own 10, in the Super Bowl with 2 minutes left?

John Elway was the King of the 2 Minute Drive. I'd take him to direct a 2 minute drill every day of the week, twice on Sunday, and never look back. Not to displace Montana, Favre, Brady, et al., but Elway was magical. When the pressure was on, he stepped up brillantly.

Nah just playin. I gotta go w/ Joe Montana. I grew up watching him and I will never forget that drive against the Bengals. |

John Elway is the comeback king, but Joe Montana in my opinion is the better all around quarterback. I hated the 49ers but always enjoyed watching him play....he always seemed calm cool and collected!

John Elway. I agree w/ skinsguy, if I had to pick a QB to build my team with, I'd pick Montana, but if I'm down 6 from my own 10 w/ 2:00 left... you gotta take Elway, no doubt.

Joe Cool all the way.
Brady is quickly becoming a close second though. I was never a huge fan of Elway. |

Montana. Always came through in the clutch and never threw an int in the playoffs.

Montana Postseason Stats (23 games, 16-7 W-L Record): 463-732 (63%), 5772 yds, 44 TDs, 21 INTs (2 Rushing TDs) Elway Postseason Stats (22 games, 14-8 W-L Record): 355-650 (55%), 4964 yds, 27 TDs, 21 INTs (6 Rushing TDs) As others have said, if I had to build a team, I'd take Montana hands down. However, with the game on the line, no one did more times than Elway. Calling Elway Mr. Comeback matter of opinion of course...can claim plenty for both...

I went with Brady I believe when it's all said and done he will be considered the best of all time he is Montana like, with a better arm, the other's where probably more gifted physically but they didn't have the smart's that Montana, or Brady possess, Montana was a benefactor of the west coast offense and Bill Walsh, we have seen QB after QB become all pro's in that san fran system and do nothing else where, we have seen Bledsoe fail in New England, and Brady prosper. Brady is a special QB I would take him in any offensive situation on the field.

I do feel it will be minimal, I feel the new england cooridinators are a product of Belichik they run what Belichik want's, especially on the defensive side of the ball if you saw late in the pittsburg game it was Belichik reeming some player's on the field on the defensive end about there positioning not Romeo, I believe the buck stop's with Belichik, but like any QB he need's the right coaches and player's around him to succeed, if Marino played for Gibb's his whole carreer we would be saying without a doubt [IMO] that he was the greatest of all time, so a lot of thing's factor into a QB's success but I feel Brady is and has been the best at capitalizing on his situation he's not a short passing game QB like Montana, he can throw the deep ball as accurate as anyone in the game, and does so regularly, as well as making every clutch throw that is presented to him, I look for him to destroy Philli next sunday. |
