I always hear that, about integrity in journalism, but how are sources verified? How could anyone determine that it was a real source? I'm just curious how that works.
Regardless, let's assume he is being "ethical." Who is this person? What is their position in the organization? How much interaction do they really have with the players? I know that if you asked some individuals in my organization about a relationship between individuals they don't work with often, some of them would/have made wild speculations that I know are untrue. If you asked me, as an executive privy to all sorts of information within my organization, about whether or not 2 people get along, I would not be able to tell you accurately, and anything I did tell you would likely be hearsay. So, ethical or not, it's BS journalism.
And yeah, this inside source ought to be held accountable, but you can't control what every idiot does, so if you don't know who it is do you give a hard time to everyone? Nah, it won't do you any good, you just do your best to continue to project positivity and unity as best you can. That said, it wouldn't hurt if Cousins denied it, but why waste his time?
