He also accused the "washington media" of trying to "squelch" the story. So instead of being more specific, he accused everyone.

Re: Cousins to start 2015 Season
If your hypothesis is right then we need to start clearing out bad apples in the FO. Sounds like a disgruntled workplace. I'm sure RG3 hasn't been the happiest guy but I have no reason to believe that he would completely distance himself from Cousins or anyone else for that matter. The reality, and I never thought I'd be defending RG3 here, but the reality is that he's probably made a conscious effort to step back and let Kirk take the spotlight which is exactly what he should be doing. If we have people within the organization who are not on board then we need to be parting ways with them.

30, dont let this trouble you. Let Eli numbers vs the Skins at home numbers trouble you.

Regardless, let's assume he is being "ethical." Who is this person? What is their position in the organization? How much interaction do they really have with the players? I know that if you asked some individuals in my organization about a relationship between individuals they don't work with often, some of them would/have made wild speculations that I know are untrue. If you asked me, as an executive privy to all sorts of information within my organization, about whether or not 2 people get along, I would not be able to tell you accurately, and anything I did tell you would likely be hearsay. So, ethical or not, it's BS journalism. And yeah, this inside source ought to be held accountable, but you can't control what every idiot does, so if you don't know who it is do you give a hard time to everyone? Nah, it won't do you any good, you just do your best to continue to project positivity and unity as best you can. That said, it wouldn't hurt if Cousins denied it, but why waste his time? |

Unless Jason Cole is flat out making this up, he has a source, it doesn't speak highly of that source to be badmouthing Griffin. But that has been par for the course here for over a year. |

Re: Cousins to start 2015 Season
Lots and lots of assumptions about how information is gathered, reported, and "sourced."
I will respond with my own assumption - that no one responding in this thread, other than SS, (1) works in sports media; (2) has specific knowledge of any statements actually made and attributable to a specific player or Redskins' employee; (3) no one has specific knowledge of how "porous" other teams are when it comes to "leaking" information. Cole's reporting on this has yet to be substantiated by any attributable source. Further, to my knowledge, no other reporter, either locally or nationally, has indicated that their own "sources" support the claim of Cole's unidentified source. Based on my past observations, if there was any truth to the statement, one or two (at least) other reporters with different "unidentified sources" would be chiming in saying things to the effect "that's what my guy says too" or words to that effect. The fact that no such statements have been made and, in fact, most local media has shot down the statement or been implicitly supportive of RGIII's public denial speaks volumes to me about the credibility of the original report. As to leaks, I just don't think the Skins have any more than any other team. Given the attention caused by a former rookie of the year and "face of the franchise" player falling out of favor with all sorts of side issues - conflicts with coaches real and imagined, vocal parents, and the player constantly (until recently) making controversial or unwise statements to the media, reliable individuals within the organization are likely to speak out of turn and reporters are likely to provide the information b/c it is generally of interest to the fan base. I suspect that "leaks" have been going on for years (decades), but are just much more accessible in this era of instant information gratification. I can only imagine the field day social media would have had with the 1990's Cowboys.

Re: Cousins to start 2015 Season
the red flags for me...1)the headline is blantently false seeing that cousins and rg3 were on tv speaking with each other and with coaches just 48 hours before. 2)For folks who have been on the internet before, the headline is clearly a troll or clickbait in a TMZ like style. 3) Its the Bleacher Report website

Re: Cousins to start 2015 Season
I know the response to leaks in Ashburn are different then in Chicago.
I remember when Aarom Kromer leaked information about Cutler. It wasn't pretty for him. People were asking Trestman if Kromer was gonna be fired. Kromer actually made a tearful apology to the team which, lol, of course got leaked. |

Re: Cousins to start 2015 Season
good journalists verify accounts by getting a 2nd source and also check the credibility of their sources/how they got that information. ideally you want the 2 sources to both be attributed too, so there's transparency.
this looks like one guy using hearsay to as clickbait. the facts don't support his claims and the local journo's don't either. nothing to see here, let's move along. Last edited by That Guy; 09-23-2015 at 10:05 PM. |

Good grief. Ignore this nonsense. Let's just focus on the impending beat-down of the G-nats.
