I'd start working on a backup plan for 2018 now. I wonder how much Nate Sudfeld can improve in 1 year. If he doesn't improved, we might see another mid round pick spent on a qb.

My solution is - sign Cousins to a long term deal with the possible option of trading him. This buys time indefinitely to actively find another QB or to see if Cousins gets to the next level.
Either way, it's a win-win for the Redskins and also for Cousins.
