I think Mack would make a significant difference on our line and just as Manning hates to be without Saturday, Jason could see what it's like to have a center he can count on, game in and game out. It would be to Jasons benefit and the team as a whole, to have a player of this caliber anchoring the line for the next decade or more. He can handle the big tackles and is very smart. I doubt we'll get him, but this is the kind of guy I want on our team.
Not only that, but if we could get Portis going up the middle again, that could allow us to hit a defense quickly and split the safeties before anything could happen.

I would rather go for Jason Brown in free agency though, and spend a high draft choice on a tackle. Brown is still very young, and in a weak economic climate with the Ravens virtually unable to put in a competitive deal, and with Matt Birk and Jeff Saturday both with expiring contracts ahead of him, getting Brown in to a Rabach-type cheap deal will not be difficult.
