That whole area in the north suburbs of Detroit is pretty alright north of ten mile. It's one of those rare situations where the further you can live away from the city, the better off you will be. I can't think of any other major city where that would be true.

The trade off, of course, is that the individual cities have all the commerce, and all the stuff to do, so you can lead a full lifestyle without having to leave your locality.

As for Warren, specifically, I don't know much about it, other than the fact that it's huge.
I'm staying on 10 mile right now at the line between Warren and Center Line until I find something more long term. And you're right, there aren't many cities like that. The downtown area doesn't seem too bad though. It is kinda nice having shops around everywhere with this still being more like a city and less like the suburbs that I'm used to living in where you still have to go 5 miles to a convenience store. Here I can walk to a few grocery stores, there's a liquor store up the street (first time I've lived somewhere without government run liquor stores that closed at 9, beer and liquor can be sold in the same store, etc), etc. There are a lot of places open around 12 mile so I'll probably end up around there.

And yes, Detroit for a job, amazing huh? Detroit has a bit under 15pct unemployment rate, but a ton of people moving away. Charlotte (where I just left and couldn't find a job) has 12pct so it's not that much different, but people are STILL moving into Charlotte because it keeps getting listed as one of the best places to live. Anyways, just got in last night and start the work tomorrow morning, so that went quickly. I'll be doing grunt work and shifting around within the company while they figure out where to place me as positions open up. Plus I'll be learning their network, they have a small IT staff and only a few servers, etc.

I'm having a hell of a time finding info on a Redskins Bar up here, have a small lead that maybe Tom's Oyster Bar in Downtown might play the games, but didn't find much info.

We actually play the Lions in the 3rd game and I've found tickets lower level near the 30 on the visitor's side from like 75-100 bucks, so that's nice.
