Re: Any Detroit area people here?

And yes, Detroit for a job, amazing huh? Detroit has a bit under 15pct unemployment rate, but a ton of people moving away. Charlotte (where I just left and couldn't find a job) has 12pct so it's not that much different, but people are STILL moving into Charlotte because it keeps getting listed as one of the best places to live. Anyways, just got in last night and start the work tomorrow morning, so that went quickly. I'll be doing grunt work and shifting around within the company while they figure out where to place me as positions open up. Plus I'll be learning their network, they have a small IT staff and only a few servers, etc. I'm having a hell of a time finding info on a Redskins Bar up here, have a small lead that maybe Tom's Oyster Bar in Downtown might play the games, but didn't find much info. We actually play the Lions in the 3rd game and I've found tickets lower level near the 30 on the visitor's side from like 75-100 bucks, so that's nice. |

Because the Lions suck, they have some mainstream sports bars (like Champps) that give you all the games at once. I prefer to just watch at home, but actually, I went to a bar near my house two years ago for Campbell's first start, and it was pretty nice. You'll be surprised just how many Skins fans will make that day trip to Ford Field.. I may join them again, but it depends how my finances break down over the next month and a half. Don't be shocked if the Lions and Redskins are both 2-0 heading into that game. You'll look like a freakin genius for buying the tix when you did.

I'll probably be buying the tickets as soon as I can afford them. I don't know how walk-up sales are or scalping.. and paying 100 bucks for a lower level ticket is a great damn deal in my opinion. If you make it to the game we should do some tailgating. I don't know how far out you are or what obligations you have but I'll leave my couch open if Grand Rapids is a bit out. Might go see the O's when they're in town at the beginning of August. |

I heard it was a shit-hole. What good is more money if someone shoots you for it?
