I think there's a difference between trade value and actual value. Based on how he's played and how other teams would perceive him, I think it would be hard to argue that he should fetch a high pick. On the other hand, I believe that if given a good line he would be a serviceable starting QB in the league. So therefore, I both think that he has little-to-no trade value AND would like him to be our starting QB for the next couple years.

Trade value is all about perception. For example, in Week 1 of 2001, you could probably have gotten Tom Brady for a 6th or 7th rounder. Ditto for Tony Romo through 2005. Today, they are both probably untradeable. Exact same QB, vastly different perceptions around the league at those different points in time. Thus, it is perception, not actual talent, that drives trade value.
