Not saying you specifically, but I think many of us get caught up in 40 times & think that 4.3 is exponentially faster than 4.6. Sure it's considerably faster, but we're still talking tenths of a second. An elusive 4.6 offensive player can make up that difference & then some w/one quick move to get a defender behind him.
A qb that runs as fast as 4.6 is still pretty rare in the nfl.

Sure 4.64 is fast especially for a qb, but I think there will be two sub 4.5 qb's at this years combine alone.
Jake Locker is even faster than Newton, but I still think Newton is getting below 4.5 although he has such long strides his timed speed might not be as good as the tape.
