The Texans Game Is Starting To Loom Large.

I knew blowing that game was gonna come back and bite us. We could be 6-4 right in the middle of the playoff chase, but instead we're sitting at 5-5. We're still very much in it, but we could have been sitting pretty if we didn't blow that game.

I'm new to this site and I've been on the other (extremeskins) Redskins site. Unlike over their, I hope the posters over here realize "AFC games are important."

Well you could also look at the Rams game and wonder what if. Of course all games matter, but in conference games carry more weight come playoff time. I think that's the one you have to look at and wish we had back. Even at 6-4 we'd still be in a log jam for the wildcard.

Yes, they blew that game. Right now the team needs to concentrate on one game at a time, especially with the amount of injuries. I don't want this team make it to the playoffs and get embarrassed again with all the lack of depth due to injuries. Hopefully the youngsters can step it up like Keiland Williams.

I was thinking the same thing and you could even throw the Detroit game into that mix. I understand that it wasn't as close though.

I would say that any of the 5 losses are doing that for real. Why the Texans game ? That's an AFC game. Not the Rams, Lions, or most of all the Eagles since that was a Divisional opponent ?

Re: The Texans Game Is Starting To Loom Large.

I think the Texans game hurts because the one time we get such a good lead we give it back. That was extremely frustrating and 6-4 would be a far better place to be.

Having said that, if we manage to scrape our way back into the tiebreaking system (ace can give you the breakdown on that), then the texans loss will not be the one to keep us out.

I also wonder if Shanny is regretting pulling McNabb at the end of the Detroit game now. I know he will never fess up to it, but ya gotta wonder.

We blew the Texans game. You can't lose a game that you had a 14 point lead in the 2nd half at home. We didn't really blow those other games. We just got outplayed.

True, I was at the Texans game so it did suck ass. So it's more so the way they lost and not so much the loss because they had the game won. I got you !

Welcome to the board !

I think we all know Shanny should not have pulled McNabb. With that being said, with the way the game was going, I don't think it would have made a difference. The Lions D was living in our backfield by the time McNabb was pulled.

If shouldda, couldda wouldda. Playoff teams don't let the Texans game get away. Their best player made a play and we couldn't stop it. The Green Bay and Dallas games could've easily been losses too.

The loss at Detroit is the killer because we had a 5-point lead and the ball in the fourth quarter. Plus, Detroit is terrible (2-8), and we had no excuse losing to them.

Kyle should have ran the ball there and taken off some clock. Worst case scenario is we punt and make them drive the field or make them use their time outs when they get the ball back. Bad coaching can lose games too.

Your right but getting there is half the battle and they would have experience being there which would be a plus. I would just like to see the team have winning record. It's hard usually to go from 4-12 and changing the GM, HC, OC, DC,QB, and scheme on both sides of the ball and have a winning record. We come out of this 9-7 at the end... I'm happy. 8-8 would be alright but I felt we were better then 8-8. The only confusing part is we are winning the games we should be losing and losing the games we should be winning.

Re: The Texans Game Is Starting To Loom Large.

The Texans game did hurt .. you can't say Rams ( we just plain lost ) .. lions have our number ... the Texans game hurts the most because we were rolling on offense and just gave away that game .. all that being said .. 5-5 makes me super proud and pumped to be a Skins fan .. the way this team showed up on Sunday really showed me the ship is headed in the right direction ...

Re: The Texans Game Is Starting To Loom Large.

And here I was thinking the Lions and Rams games were looming larger. There was no excuse for losing those games.
