I can't wait till next year
Hopefully Gibbs will sign the extension and comeback, then we need to have a strong off season. We need to fill some glaring needs, a DE, CB, OG, Big WR and LB. We should be able to address this thru the draft and free agency and comeback next year like we did in and 91 and blow everyone away, no mercy.

Re: I can't wait till next year
I think outside linebacker would be a good way to go in the the 3rd or 4th round. I like HB Blades, but he's more of an inside guy and this team needs someone who can come in and possibly play next year with Rocky probably missing the season. Also, I don't think it's too early to think about the future at OLB on Marcus's side. I don't think he'll be around much longer, more because he's starting to get up there. At age 30 and his injury history, I don't think having some depth at the position would be a bad idea.

Re: I can't wait till next year
There's always next year if I live long enough, and the year after, and the year after that, etc etc.

Re: I can't wait till next year
the holes i saw today were as follows
we have a glaring lack of speed in the linebacking corps i believe, we should see if we can bring in a speedy guy atleast for 3rd down coverage. we were struggling to get to the sidelines during the game obviously we need more o-line depth we had little pass rush throughout the game, we need to bring in a DE, id prefer through free agency i dont feel comfortable drafting a dlineman very high, if we do draft i hope not with our first round pick more depth at cornerback. yes rogers is coming back but we still need someone just in case. maybe bring in a wide receiver but i think we can survive with what we have. im really excited for next season, hopefully we dont see any wholesale changes or a change in coaching, etc. like we saw last time in 05

Re: I can't wait till next year
I Cant Wait For '08 Season, Jc Is Gonna Be Healthy And Is Gonna Continue To Become A Star Qb! Our Line Will Be Healthy, But We Will Add Dept, We Are Not Old, So Thats A Good Sign. Landry Will Be A Pro Bowler, And Cooley Will Be A Top 5 Te! I Think Gibbs Will Return And Possibly Gw As Well. So It Looks Like To Me That We Will Again Be A Playoff Team.

I think there are too many problems on this team to expect them to be a contender next year.
1) Our offensive line is getting old. I won't be surprised if they cannot stay healthy next year either. 2) Our receivers are small and inconsistent. 3) Cooley drops way too many passes. 4) Portis is constantly banged up, he does not have the break away ability he used to have. 5) Our corners are average and getting old. Save Carlos, he's young, but I still don't know if he's any good. 6) Pass rush is weak. However, I'm proud of them for digging themselves out of a hole and making the playoffs. I'm happy with the result of this season.

Re: I can't wait till next year
A lot really depends on the injury status of Rogers and Rocky. Even still I find it hard to believe there aren't many positives to look forward to

Re: I can't wait till next year
Oh yes you can. We have a bonus of undrafted FA that came thru for us Alexander, Heyer, Mason, Buzbee, etc. A DE, CB, OG can be had in 3 rounds, the other holes in FA.

Re: I can't wait till next year
IMO, it's wishful thinking to believe that we can address all those problems with draft picks next year. Finding starting a starting caliber DE, CB, and OG is tough. Heyer played okay for us, hopefully he'll work hard in the off season and be better next year.

Re: I can't wait till next year
I'm not looking forward to next season because I am just not sure we will be sitting pretty next year. I'm still crying in my beer, so I'm not ready to think about next year yet. Maybe after I get back from vacation.
