Re: Penalties a major problem

Joe Gibbs needs to rethink his football philosophy instead of “trying not to lose games” why not try to WIN the game?

He is way too conservative.

Have you ever been able to complete a post without the F word? It must be tough posting with such a limited vocabulary.

I don't agree that you do that on purpose. Being physical is one thing, but you don't purposely head hunt with the intention of injuring someone and getting a penalty to send a message. That's not a smart way to play the game.

That being said, I think Sean Taylor has got a bad rap so far this season because of his past. The personal fouls I've seen him get this year were pretty ticky tack if you ask me.

Well I'm not saying a helmet to helmet hit. I'm saying a hard, clean tackle/hit. Not like an out of bounds hit. But a Ronnie Lott type hit, knowing that with ST's rep he'll probably get that 15-yarder; deserved or not.

Re: Penalties a major problem

Sean Taylor has a bullseye on his back now. Any little thing he does will be scrutinized, and he will be penalized much harsher than your average defensive back.

As far as the penalties, the first 2 or 3 weeks were horrible, but since then, the Skins have gotten much much better on penalties. As was stated before, while penalties can hinder a performance, they don't usually have such an adverse effect on all 16 games.
