Now, now. He was banged up a bit last year, but not ALL last year. He still started in 14 games.

His career average is as follows: 44 receptions, 712 yards, and 4 touchdowns per year. Those are the numbers of a very average receiver. Yes, 2005 was a great year for him, but it was his best year.

You probably won't agree, but I'm starting to think that Santana Moss, glorious as 2005 was, is an average wide receiver in this league who's had his peak year. I'm losing faith that he is destined to be part of a Redskin team that leads us back to contention.

AMEN. I think you hit the nail on the head with that statement. I think that Moss can still contribute, but not like what he did in 05. He's just too small and injury prone and I don't think he will ever be 100% again. It just seems like every single time he gets off an injury another one shows up. Not to mention, and I've said this before but he seems to start looking upfield for the hit before he really catches the ball he's never going to make it if he keeps doing that.

You are absolutely right. Plenty of average wideouts have had great single seasons. Remember Musin Muhammed's last year with the Panthers? At least w Moss he had his best season WITH us instead of playing well for one year with some other team and then cashing in with Snyder.

Moss is averaging 100.3 yards per game vs the Cowboys since becoming a Redskins player.

There is a lot of truth in your statements...but while he did play in 14 games last year, how many games was he on the injury report??? (also, not like he had a good passing attack last year, Brunell was hurt most of the season only throwing 10 yards down the field)
Same with this year in terms of injury. When healthy he is a great WR, however, he's never healthy. I applaud him trying to work through injuries, but the guy is a piece of glass, and I'd rather have someone with a little less talent but can be reliable than someone that is amazing but is only 100% for 1/4th the year.
So I will disagree with your comment about him being an average WR, he's not. But when you factor in injuries, then I will agree.
