Re: Campbell takes losing hard
My guess that it might be an indication of the pressure he's facing and a lot of built up things. I also suspect it was not so much about losing the game, but rather his feeling that HE lost the game for his teammates (I'm sure he was up pretty late thinking about the Moss overthrow and the Terrance Newman INT). If he starts crying after every game then we might have to get Dick Vermeil in here to coach the team, but I think in this instance you can certainly understand where that sort of emotion was coming from. He took the loss personally, he felt like it was his fault, but he'll watch the film, he'll get better, and we'll go beat Tampa on Sunday. I mean, hey, we can't all be tough guys who call guys out from behind the saftey of a computer screen...

Re: Campbell takes losing hard
Well I personally love this about the guy. I am one who can become very emotional and passionate about the things I am involved in. This past April I competed in my first road race after 2 years of battle with a used race car, a 1998 acura integra type R, I had purchased to go road racing with NASA in the Honda Challenge series with the dream of one day becoming a national and regional champion in the class. This past year I won my regional chapionship and got knocked around a bit at Nationals (so that will be next year, God Willing).
` I own and operate a race team in SC. We have 2 cars and my partner has been racing for 5 years. When my time finally came to get in the car and run I broke down and cried after the race. I had finished 1st in class and 15th overall in a group of 55 cars. Those tears were more of relief and joy though. So I understand and admire his passion for the game and also can grasp his feelings towards competition. I have also shed my share of tears in defeat and wouldn't trade my feelings and passion for anything. So Jason weres his heart on his sleeve. Doesn't care who sees him. Now I have one more thing I really respect about him.

Re: Campbell takes losing hard
JC has a ton of heart, I wonder if his hand injury is from punching a wall in the locker room from being so upset?

Re: Campbell takes losing hard
You have to feel for the kid... I know he'll be taking flack for crying in the locker room, but I'm soo glad to see someone in there who actually cares. He's one of the only couple of redskins who know the words to "Hail to the Redskins" that may not mean anything to some of us but it impressed me alot, and after the past 2 weeks, the kid has sold me completely.... I just hope the team rallies around him and elevates their play to match that emotion...
football is an emotional game... even when Im playing madden I'll get so elated after a good win (not total domination, but a game that you couldve lost if you hadn't made that one move, or called that one play and its the only reason you won...) and I'll get infuriated after I lose... I didn't feel that way as much when I was playing football, because I was on the D line... I wanted to win, but didn't feel like if we didn't it was because I whiffed that one tackle or didn't take out the fullback running around the corner. I couldn't imagine shouldering that much responsibility and coming up short. I'm glad also that he's taking being a redskin seriously... putting so much into a rivalry... It really seems like he loves being a redskin, which is something you don't get in most players.

I'm not a big fan of football players crying, but there is nothing wrong with it, I'm sure he wasn't sobbing on the floor in the fetal position. He probably had a few tears running down his checks. I'm glad to see he has this level of passion to win and be successful. This attitude is what we need. Other players seeing his level of passion and committment will pick up their games if they are worth keeping around. JC definitely isn't soft on the field. He worked harder than anyone in the off-season mentally and physically. He's also takes some shots and gotten right back up. He keeps his composure in the game and that is what's important. There are plenty of guys who won't shed a tear but are the biggest, selfish babies in the world. They get fat contracts, joke around after losses, play like crap and wind up on IR (Brandon Lloyd).

![]() I knew it wouldn't take long. I don't think they meant crying in a wussy, blubbering "waaah I want my mommy" kind of way. The kid was just expressing some pent up emotion and frusteration. I, for one, am thrilled to see some emotion back in these guys. It's nice to see Portis pissed off, good to see guys like Randel El and Smoot fired up, and a QB who actually gives a damn. Skills completely aside, Ramsey and Brunell always bugged me cause it seemed like it wasn't a really big deal when they lost. Ramsey I don't think actually HAS facial expressions, and Brunell always had this sort of "aw shucks" shrug to what he had to say. Time to bring back some passion and fire to this team! Say what you will about football just being a business nowadays, but at its core football is about guys "fighting their guts out," giving their all until the last whistle, showing character, toughness and poise in the face of victory and defeat.
