Well, he has a point there when you think about it. Look at the OL this year and how well they've performed so far.

We're essentially down 4 starters on defense. Jackson, Meriweather, Rak, Carriker. There's bound to be a drop off when you lose that many guys. Not sure if we'd be top 5 with those guys, probably middle of the pack, but that would have been good enough for a few more wins, easily.

I'm not saying the injures have had no effect, but a statement like this is exactly why two more years of shanny are a death sentence for the team. Because he says this every. Single. Year. While the season is slipping away, and it places the blame on uncontrollables. It's the opposite of leadership.

The problem isn't that shanny is wrong. The problem is that the excuses are self defeating. They were last year. And will be next year.
