Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
lol the Skins would have to be retarded to keep a guy for $20M if they had no interest in him as the long term answer. They could have went with McCoy and signed a couple more free agents with that money.

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
If Cooley said anything like that, hard to believe someone like Florio wouldn't be all over it.

Cooley also said Freeney was coming in this week.

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
That's right you heard it hear first. Dilfer is coming out of retirement so he can be the weak link on a championship Redskins squad, all because Dan Snyder feels like being cheap towards Kirk Cousins.

A. QB is a hole (sorry Kirk), they've seen enough out of Sudfeld to make him a starter and give him the beaucoup bucks. B. Hopefully raised his trade value enough that we flip him for a solid pick. C. Cut him loose because he's a still a rusted old piece of shit not worth investing in anymore.

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
Kirk will get a long deal, CC just wants to be relevant again.

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
Sudfield will be gone in a couple of years. He won't be worth much.

So someone of importance thinks that if Cousins goes out this year and is a top ten QB, and leads us to infinity and beyond that the Redskins do not care because they are already sure he is not coming back???? Wow. I hope that said person is let go before Cousins. Its hard to even have this conversation because we have been in QB hell for two decades. Now we have what appears to be a potential star in the making - very early on in his career- and brass is letting Cooley know that there is almost no chance he comes back? All this before he even plays a pre season game in his first true year going into the season as the starter? |

IMO, Cousins' best chance for a big payday is that he plays well enough this year that someone wants to give him the long term deal with the security that he has been after. If he plays lights out and the skins go deep in the playoffs, that is really the worst case for the skins because he at that point would be in the neighborhood range of 22 - 24 million, which the Skins flat out won't pay. But somebody will. Ever since this whole story has been going on, here are the teams that I think have the best chance to get Cousins in 2017, and make sense. Miami Denver San Francisco New York Jets

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
Once again, why bother giving KC $20m this year if there's little chance of him being here long term? If SM wanted to play money ball, $20m could have shored up a few other positions. And if you're ok win paying him $20m this year, why wouldn't you be ok with paying him $24m next year as long as he earns it?

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
There isn't a coach or GM in the league that would prefer a game manager over a stud QB.
