This is getting weird now. Lol. The only thing that is going to stop Cousins from having a future here is Cousins. The Redskins have done everything in their power up until this day to make his future a successful one. Weapons on offense. Got rid of Griff. Paid him 20 million dollars. There are no ancient aliens that are going to ruin this, no magic 8 ball has answered with bad news. You have to take a deep breath and relax. There are plenty of Redskins fans who are losing sleep over the recent report that the Redskins may try to find a younger and cheaper alternative to Cousins if they can’t come to a long-term deal that makes financial sense for the team. One of the concerns is that this will make Cousins feel like he is unwanted by the organization.

We’ll see about that. The Redskins won’t be able to get their Plan B quarterback until next year. Nate Sudfeld may be the very rare sixth-round pick who pans out but we’re a long way from him possibly casting any sort of shadow. Colt McCoy is a journeyman backup. I’m not sure how Cousins can feel threatened at this point in time.

In addition, Scot McCloughan has praised Cousins and has expressed his desire to get a long-term contract done with him virtually every time he has spoken to the media this year (emphasis added in all quotes).

Any chance that SM doesn't want to give Cousins 24 million a year after this season, and lets him walk and goes with Nate Sudfeld? He was a late round pick, but he looks like an NFL QB. Not saying I want this, just curious if anyone thinks its even a remote chance?

Saw some article that said if Cousins has another good year, he will be the highest paid player in the NFL with his next contract. From backup to highest paid player or very close to it, crazy jump in 2 years.

Can't find the link right now but I was listening to Redskins on the radio, and I BELIEVE that it was Cooley who said he thinks there is a less than 1% chance Cousins gets re-signed based on what he has seen and heard around Redskins park. I always felt like Cooley was a pretty sensible guy, ie - not saying crazy stuff generally..
