Maybe not. But you use him towards his strengths. Learn the game.

Pork, I like you and I'm glad you post here, but you make too many posts that imply that if you don't agree, whoever you disagree with, is flat out wrong and needs to learn the game. You don't have a monopoly on football knowledge.

I can say what I wanna say when I see fit. He doesn't know the game if he uses an example of Vick and Jackson when it comes to using or not using Heinicke per RPO.

If you're gonna play someone then play said player to their strengths. We're not doing that with Heinicke.

I never said you can't post whatever you want. But just because you can post something, doesn't mean you should. That's all. I think a large majority of posters here are knowledgeable fans.

I think there's a large majority who doesn't know much. I know a guy who was an all-state high school football player in the late 80s who once told me that he really wasn't a true student of the game. He knew the game, but only enough to "get by" per se'.

I brought that up because there are people who has watched hundreds or thousands of football games but still doesn't know particular nuances of the game.

I agree with this. I don't think Scott Turner is doing enough to set the players in position to make plays.

It's weird, because I feel like we have no less than league average receivers and an above average RB room. But offense is still brutal to watch most times.

I rotate blame on that between the QBs/Turner/OLine.

Our offensive line at pass protection makes it very difficult for not great OC or QBs to be successful.

OLine should be the No. 1 off-season focus. Then base the draft around how the pre-draft off-season went.

Does Heinicke has the arm strength of Hurts, Mariotta, or Daniel Jones? Nope. But he has more than enough athleticism to even periodically use him on RPO action. Make the defense honor him. One hesitation or false step by the end, backers, and/or safeties can result in reasonable to sizeable yardage.

Stop trying to routinely fancy him as some sort of drop back passer. Drop him him back periodically to keep the defense honest, but mix it up and allow Heinicke to use his legs.

You can't drop back your QB periodically in the NFL. Can't hide your Qb. Could they use his legs more? I do think Scott could put in a few more waggles and boots and some more RO.

W/ Taylor I also think Scott could go back and put in some pure WCO plays w/ misdirection, play action and so forth. Some of those old Bill Walsh plays would work well w/ a weak armed QB. That stuff is dead now, but now sure why.

Straight drop backs? Sure, you can do it periodically, as long as you're mixing in roll outs, boots/waggles, and RPO.

Turner doesn't have the insight to install those things and neither an offense which resembles a WCO (which I have pondered to myself several days ago).

My point was on 3rd down and 7 you can't do that stuff.

Thing is Turner rarely does some of those things and doesn't do the others at all it seems.
