Still, we're usually dumping 1st, 2nd and 3rd round picks for guys like this. I'm not too bummed out about giving up a 5th rounder here. I can live with that sort of trend.

Yeah, I think people that are shaking their head about this manuever aren't doing so based on the trade itself, but rather how we got to this point. I know lots of people on here don't want to look back in time, and want to live in the moment. The problem with that is, if the Skins don't learn from their history, they are destined to repeat it. The Skins have a horrible history of pissing away draft picks, not sigining their own homegrown talent, and paying too much for free agents. If the front office drafts some lineman OR signs Dockery early on to an extension rather than waiting to the last minute to enter the bidding, then we wouldn't be put into a position where whe HAVE to make a move to acquire a LG. The same thing is happening to Cooley, they haven't gotten a deal done, so Cooley could very well hit the open market. If that happens, Cooley is gone. Then we're talking about trading a 4th or a 3rd for a TE next year.
