Sorry, but Moss just isn't a go to guy you can count on game in and game out. We need a true star at WR, a guy that Campbell can grow with and have that special chemistry with. Right now we have a bunch of #2 and #3 WRs.

We do have a go to guy at TE in Cooley, but we need a go to guy at WR to really make this offense dangerous.

Put me on the WR bandwagon for this offseason.

Does anyone know what free agents will be available?
Bernard Berrian, Patrick Crayton, Bryant Johnson, maybe Matt Jones. Those are the first names that come to mind

well personally i think that if we were to get a WR during the offseason, that id would have to be in the 2nd or 3rd round of the draft. maybe a guy like maurice purify of of Nebraska or James Hardy out of Indiana.

our WR group is good and i think there is no need to draft anyone early out of the draft.

but if either mccardell of caldwell stick around, there will no need to draft a WR.

If that's all that will be available, Washington may need to work a trade(as much as I hate giving away draft picks). They need to find a way to steal one of the young freaks from Detroit or Arizona.

I've read that Chad Johnson will be available (and that he's unhappy in Cincy). A malcontent, to be sure, but talk about a big talent. I'd still be inclined against, because character counts.

We can't afford him, Cincy would likely ask for a 1st rounder plus something else, and he's not the kind of player I want on my team.

Those guys all sound like more #2 and #3 receivers to me. We already have plenty of those.

Among many other things, this team needs a knockout punch at wideout -- a true star, a playmaker you can always count on in the clutch. Even Santana Moss doesn't fit that label.

Beemnseven, I agree that the team needs anohter WR but there is not much out there as far as playmakers that are available and I would hate to see the Skins trade any more picks. Plus in my opinion the Redskins need to get a stud defensive end in the draft in the worst way - opposing qb's are getting to much time and Phillip Daniels is getting too old so we should not trade the first round pick for anyone.

Does anyone know who the good wideouts coming out of college are that are available rounds 2 and down assuming we take a defensive end with the first pick?

It's hard to say whether I am pleased with our receivers. Sometimes they play great sometimes you have to wonder. I really think that Reche Caldwell and Keenan McCardell were great pickups. If McCardell wants I think he has another 1-2 years left in the tank. As for Reche, when he is thrown to he catches it, which is what we need here obviously. He probably won't ask for a big contract so I would try to lock him up for another couple years. I also believe that that Mix kid could be a factor. He is just too big not to be.

If Crayton walks from Dallas (i.e. Jerry Jones lets him get away), he could blossom into an absolute superstar here.
