Re: Even Belichick Doesn't Know Why Monk Isn't HOF Worthy

Belichick would know Monk's value as well as any opposing coach - he was the Giants D-coordinator during Monk's best years in the 80's. Zimmerman's argument that Monk caught "800 8-yard hooks" just doesn't wash. Monk's 13.5 yards per catch is roughly equivalent to Marvin Harrison's 13.4, yet I don't hear Harrison get that type of criticism. Monk had the best hands on the team, made the most 3rd down plays to move the chains, and was by far the best blocking WR of his generation. And by the way, he won 3 Super Bowls. May this long-running injustice end today with his election to the HOF.
