Begging an answer to this question from SSS, Matty, and other knowledgeable posters here:

In the past, reading how convoluted offensive playcalling was for us in '09 when Sherman Lewis officially was given play calling responsibility over Zorn (I read it was some weird arrangement about who called plays of what type and down and distance).....

I remember reading how in the later part of Gibbs 2.0, Joe would take over playcalling from Saunders in the red zone......

And hearing from Smootsmack, maybe Matty, maybe both, how planning plays for a game is a collaborative work with Kyle, Mike, Foerster, and maybe others too....

When we fans hear of someone have "play calling responsibility" of an offense, like Bill Callahan calling plays for Dallas as of now, how much is it typically a group effort rather than just one guy? Is it usually like ours, where Kyle ultimately decides but seems has lots of input (am I wrong about this?), or do teams usually have one guy basically planning and calling every shot himself nowadays?
