Over-rated:
Eddie George - I just don't see it, when we had Stephen Davis everybody talked about how George was a hard runner, but it seemed Davis did not get any credit.

Tom Brady - How in the world can he win Super Bowl MVP's when IMO Adam Vinitary(sp) won both of their Super Bowls?

Emmit Smith - I know he is the all-time rushing leader, but look at the talent level on the cowgirls, vs. the Lions when Barry played. If Barry Sanders did not retire when he did he, hands down, would be the all-time rushing leader.

Under-Rated:
I agree with all the others...

O-VER-RATED -
RB Corey Dillon - Maybe its his additude that gets me, but he just doesnt seem to be as good as I think hes made out to be.
QB Dante Culpepper- His best years are behind him, hes still a decent qb, but just about any NFL QB can go out and have a feild day with the recivers they got(or had) over there. Hell Gus Ferrotte tore the house down when he steped up this season.

Under-rated.
I honestly think Fred Smoot is underrated. Maybe its my bias, or him being behind Bailey, but I think this guy is a damn good player and should be considered a big CB. Not on like the " 100% shut down corner level", but a big time CB. We'll find out this year w/o Bailey here.

Now I know I'm gonna get a TON of heat for this one, and this by no means affiliates me with this man or his team in any way shape or form. HOWEVER, I know hes not that good, but Quincy Carter takes WAYYYYYYY too much heat in Dallas. Is he the guy that can lead them to a superbowl, no , absolutley not. Is he a guy that will lead them past the Washington Redskins this year, no , absolutley not. However, is he a guy that goes out there and loses them games that they should have won, no, he doesnt. Thats just my opinion. Once again to reinterate, that statment dosent affiliate me with that man, his team, that state or any of the bordering areas of Dallas, TX.

I'd knock Coughlin and Green off of the overrated list (anyone who went jobless for a year can't be rated that high), and add Mike Shanahan. With Elway and T. Davis dominating the league, any coach would be hailed a genius. The trick is maintaining it after they leave. He has had statistically good offenses, and has been unable to match his wins.

Underrated:
QB Tom Brady
Despite winning 2 of the last 3 SB's, he still will not be listed as one of the best current QB's, because he does have a cannon arm and is not 6'-5" and 240 pounds.

Carolina Panthers-despite making it to SB, they wil be over looked by most prognosticators.

OVER-RATED:
Indy Colts and KC Chiefs - The press, experts and fantasy footballers love offense and these two teams have great offenses. But their defenses are not very good. In the Colts case, they will actually be worse this year with the FA defections to their defense and not very good replacements.

eh, whatever. Im not going to fight you on this one. Im to young to know much about his college coaching days, and I dont really remember him doing to much in the NFL either. Im going to go out on a limb and say that Butch Davis was overrated as an NFL coach. He was amazing in college, and ten times the coach that Larry Coker is. Miamis players would have much better stats and we probably wouldnt have lost yet if Davis was still the coach. Larry didnt have to do much to keep winning with the plyaers he had. But I thought Davis would have done better in the NFL. Like Jimmy Johnson stepped in and used his knowledge of college players to build a team for a few years then really step it up. Im impressed though that the Browns are stickign with him and letting him build a team. You dont see that to much in teh league anymore.

I think that Tomblinson isnt overrated or underrated, hes at minimum top three running backs in the league, if not first. The guy had 1800 yards rushing and 100 receptions.

I think Deuce Staley has always been overrated. All he was ever good for was a screen pass. And for the time being im going to say that as a whole package Eli Manning was overrated as well. Im also going to hope that the broncos oline is overreates and that what is comes down to is that Portis is a beast and whatever back they have this year fails misserably.

I think that Santana Moss has always been underrated, and when they finally gave him a chance he ripped it up. Hes short but can jump over anyone in the league, and can out run bascially everyone to. Hes going to be a baller next year. I also think that the Bucs defense is underrated for next year. They lost the heart and sole of that D but got Ian Gold and some others to step in. I think under Kiffin those young guys are goign to step it up.

I have to disagree with you on this one. All Tom Brady did when he won those Super Bowls was what Trent Dilfer did when the Ravens won there super bowl. They both rode there Defense to victories and did not make stupid mistakes on offense.

Does that mean that Trent Dilfer is underrated also?

Did you watch either of the two Superbowls the Pats won?
In this last one Tom Brady was named Super Bowl MVP after throwing for 354 yards and three touchdowns. I guess you think the defense threw those passes? Great quarterbacks give their best performances in the biggest games, and that was exactly what Brady did. Twice. In Super Bowl XXXVI, he marched the Patriots to the winning points against the St. Louis Rams. In Super Bowl XXXVIII, he marched the Patriots to the winning points against the Carolina Panthers. Both times with just seconds left on the clock and he saved the DEFENSE after the defense gave up the lead really late in both games.
Brady's numbers alone in Superbowl XXXVIII : 32 completions in 48 attempts for 354 yards and three touchdowns. The 32 completions broke a Super Bowl record.

I think you are also unaware that in 2001, Brady took over for a terrible performing and injured QB Drew Bledsoe and the Pats were 1-3. His play is credited for turning the team around and they went 13-2 the rest of the year and won the Super Bowl. I should know, I lived in Boston from 2000-2004. The defense did not start playing well untill late in the 2001 season. By then Brady had already turned the team around.

The most over rated player in the league is Mike Vick by far. You would think he had a hand full of Super Bowl rings for all the hype he gets.

Runner up is Shockey, but he plays in NY and they overrate all their players.

Brady did a bit more than just ride the Pats D, I don't see the Dilfer comparison with him at all.
