Herman Edwards coaching record - pro-football-reference.com Whether you think he's good or not, he's here to stay because if he's fired, people will scream racism. To me, he's not a good head coach. He's no Tony Dungy, or Lovie SMith, or even Marvin Lewis, but people think he is, so he'll be around for a while. I think he should be a defensive coordinator. He could do a team a lot of good.

In any event, I don't know how good he is, but he's dealing with a lot of issues. KC's offense used to rely on its O-line and QB. Trent Green is gone, Damon Huard isn't some stud, and Brodie Croyle is raw. KC's O-line is a shadow of what it used to be. |

And why is that? Almost every topic you've discussed this past couple of weeks alluded to race as an issue. It's time to clean up your act dude because it's getting repetitive, boring, tiring and quite frankly makes you look like a jackass.

How about when Dungy was fired in Tampa? People still think Edwards is a good head coach, so he'll get the racism cry like Green did when he was fired in Minnesota. Art Shell part 1 got a HUGE cry for it. Art Shell part 2, not so much. Yes, Edwards is dealing with a lot of issues...he dealt with a lot of issues in NY too.

So maybe it is you...DUDE...that needs to clean up your act and stop trying to attack people before you know what is actually going on. I understand race is a sensitive issue, and in no way were my comments in mallace. So I expect an apology for your remarks, and a little more respect from you for attacking before know what is going on. I understand you are young, but there are plenty of other young men (and women) on this site that pay more attention and use proper judgement and display respect for others without a biased exaggeration. (also, I have over 5000 posts on this site, and have made a discussion about racism in exactly 2 threads...grow up)

Re: Larry Johnson Speaks His Mind
Certainly there will be people that would cry racism, that's unavoidable. But if he were to be fired, any sane person would know that his race would have no bearing on his dismissal. His fate will be determined by his team's performance on the field, not the color of his skin.
Right now I don't know who could win in KC. Their line has fallen apart in the past two years. Their #1 WR, Eddie Kennison, is on the downward slope on his career. Dwayne Bowe isn't ready to be the guy yet. Larry Johnson is an enigma wrapped in a riddle on a plate of mystery. The time he spent holding out probably helped him recover from the ridiculous number of carries he had last year but at the same time holding out means he's not in football shape. At least he doesn't appear to be right now. Brodie Croyle is allegedly their future at QB, but he looked awful from what I saw of him this preseason. And Damon Huard? I mean, what can you say about Huard? And that's just the issues on offense. It's not a good time to be a Chiefs fan.

Re: Larry Johnson Speaks His Mind
1. I'm 28...I'm not exactly spring chicken.
2. Racism isn't something to be trivialized and you're making a mockery of it. 3. The minority program in the NFL is intended to prevent racism in the hiring practice of the NFL that prevailed for so long. They don't give people head coaching jobs just because they're black. 4. It isn't about the quantity of your post, it's about quality. 5. Respect is earned. As it stands you're at par.

Re: Larry Johnson Speaks His Mind
Very true, I thought you were younger, my apology, although I said for you to grow up, which does not refer to age.

Re: Larry Johnson Speaks His Mind
Everyone settle down. As always, no one wants to see people get personal with one another and, for better or for worse, no one cares who "started it."

Vermeil is emotional himself (remember when he cried like a baby in front of the media), but Vermeil seems to work through pressure and adversity well. Larry Johnson is not strong enough yet to handle tough times and gets frustrated easily. Sometimes adversity is presented to you, to make you stronger - he needs to keep this in mind and remember the old saying - What doesn't kill you... |
