Re: NFL schedule released

Any schedule is tough for us right now. I'll be happy with a good draft and seeing steady improvement this season. I've bought into team building now that we have a competent GM so I can wait a couple of years until we start kicking everybody's butt. Play the young guys!

Re: NFL schedule released

To me, it's a tough schedule. I have little hope for this upcoming year - so much is dependent on the QB situation, and that is going to be a crapshoot until we see KC & RGIII in games that actually count.

I see us going 2-5 or 3-4 pre-bye and anywhere from 0-9 to 4-5 post bye. It's just not going to be pretty.

7-9 for me would be a win

Then prepare to be pissed! lol

We still can't be viewed as a good team. All I'm looking for this season is for us to develop a culture of tenacious, physical play. I just want to see us stay in games and make teams respect/fear us. I want the tone to be set from the trenches out.

In games like that, the outcome will be determined by a few big plays/turnovers. Until I see otherwise I don't trust any of our QBs in that department.

But let's be physical, tough, tenacious, fierce. And we'll build towards a QB situation where we can sustain some winning records in 2016 and beyond.

I'm with Schneed on this. Prepare to be pissed. While I do think we'll be competitive, I also think we still lack a lot of talent and depth on this team. The good news is the DL has been revamped and hopefully that adds to our pass rush to mask our deficiencies in the secondary. I still think we lack talent at the OLB, ILB, FS and CB spots. Also, a lot will ride on the play at the QB position as well.

I dont know, the fact Dallas won the division last year just states the obvious to me, each year teams come out of nowhere and win. We can be that team, need things to swing our way for sure

Re: NFL schedule released

What I'd like to see this year is improvement from game one to game 16. I need to see us actually get better. If a couple young guys could not look like complete lost sh*t-heels and our vets play to their abilities then it would all come down to the QB. Like it does for basically everyone in the NFL.

Re: NFL schedule released

This opening Miami game will tell us a lot.
I rate them as a possible playoff team.
So if we can at least go toe to toe with them it will be a good sign.

Totally agree here, especially as it relates to how our offensive line performs against Suh and the rest of that monster D line. If we hold our own against that group in the trenches then it bodes well enough for us to be considered mediocre and improved.

I don't know if they came out of nowhere. They put immense resources into the trenches leading up to last year's success. They methodically picked three offensive linemen in the first round over the years.

We need to do the same and it can't all be done in one season.

very true, but the defense was more surprising...remember when they were considered bottom 3 in the league going into the season last year? Coaching change from Kiffin to Marrinelli was the difference imo. That change took an underperforming unit with a steady offense to a playoff team.

maybe the same happens here

If you look at the metrics though you see that it wasn't that their defense was so improved, it was more that the ball was in the offense's hands due to the stellar offensive line paving the way for countless first downs and a rushing title for Murray. They kept the chains moving and kept the defense off the field more.

But I hear you, our defense should be better solely because of the defensive line. Knighton's impact will be big I think.

But all that does is make us more competitive. It takes a QB like Tony Romo paired with a great offensive line to get to 12-4. With our QB situation we should hope for 8-8 and be happy. Anything beyond that is a prayer answered.

Dallas didn't "come from nowhere " to win it though. They've been treading at 8-8. They haven't had any 3 or 4 win seasons like we've had.
