Re: 2012 QB Prospects (Part 2)
If for some crazy reason we either A) aren't in position to take a QB, or B) the QB's that are juniors don't declare, I really think we should trade down a few spots and take David DeCastro the guard from Stanford, he looks like another Steve Hutchinson.

If that happens we def need to go for OL or WR (Blackmon) would come in and be a star day 1

Re: 2012 QB Prospects (Part 2)
Blackmon reminds me of Crabtree when he was in college. If thats the case, I don't see him being worth a early first round pick. I think he's very similar to Boldin. Boldin isn't a high first round receiver, he's a late round, good but not great receiver. I'd much rather have an Alshon Jefferey who reminds me of a Plaxico Burress. If you want to look just at this year alone, Boldin has like what 4 TD's. Plaxico has what 7-9 now? Because he's a long strider and great redzone target. That's how I see Alshon, Blackmon will be solid but not great.

Burress has 7 i believe and have u seen Blackmon play? He's a freak of nature almost guaranteed 10 catches and 120 yards a game while being double teamed all game long. He's regarded as a better WR than Dez Bryant was at OKST. Ntm he's faster than Boldin, he's a top 10 pick for sure. Crabtree doesn't have the same athletic ability as JB, he can't stretch the field like him

Blackmon will go in the top 5. Could see the Rams or Minny drafting him.

Re: 2012 QB Prospects (Part 2)
Maybe talent/personnel evaluation or team building are better terms.
For example: when the Colts' FO/coaching staff discerned, acknowledged and then addressed the fact that behind Manning (rosterwise) there is no legitimate QB talent. From the time of Manning's updated injury status (which fortuitously occurred just before the regular season) the team, led by the coach, seems to do all it can to secure the winning prize from next year's draft. If your FO/coaching staff don't discern the talent situation in the beginning...the rest is history. For example: the Skins' FO/coaching staff failed to discern QB talent in four consecutive decisions (JC, McNabb, Rex, Beck)...and before that expended significant resources to overhaul an above-average defense while an among-league-worst offense...actually...got...worse. Can we please stop pretending that Mike and Kyle haven't been royal f'ups since they landed in DC? IF they pull things together it will be in spite of the first two years rather than because of the first two years.

Re: 2012 QB Prospects (Part 2)
Oh, He'll definitely go high, no doubt about that, but I think that if there was the receivers from last year with AJ and Julio he wouldn't go till late in the first round, which is appropriate for the talent and production your getting from him. I agree with whomever said he's better than Dez. He is. But I just don't think he'd be worth a high first rounder in a normal years draft, because it's literally him or Alshon to pick from in the first.

Matt Barkley sends his paperwork to the draft advisory board to see his projected round if he does declare.

As someone else said, tell your theory to an unemployed Jim Caldwell as he sits and watches the draft at home this year. The Colts front office has shown an incredible lack of foresight and simply "Lucked" out. They don't where horseshoes on their helmets for nothing!

Hate to always say it like this but losing out is the way to go in order to be sure we can draft the QB we want

Sounds like a winning recipe to me. Can I be your agent?
