Wisdom of teaching can only go as far as physical ability can take you. A 1st round QB draftee will have a much higher physical skill set than Curtis Painter.

The Colts have been secretly (if obviously) "sucking for Luck" for most of the season. He is the perfect successor to Peyton Manning, either now or later. It's a damned disgrace, if you ask me. They are just now making the change from Painter to Orlovsky (as if that will help any). When the Colts passed on picking up Orton on waivers, that should have told you all you needed to know about their intentions.

I'm sure you know more about Landry than I do, but I like him as a prospect. He may be inconsistent at times, but he has big-time talent. Sometimes I think that the reason OU fans knock him is because he's not Sam Bradford. Well, he can't help that - but he can work to improve once he gets to the pros.
I'm sure Jim Caldwell will be asked that as he is sitting at home during the nfl draft w/out a job.

I don't want the Redskins to trade up in the Draft. We have other holes to fill and it will be nice having 2 extra picks this year.

I am with you on this. If when we pick Luck, Barkley, or RGIII is not availaible Claiborne is at the top of my list. He would be # 1, Hall # 2, Wilson # 3, that would be a solid group of cb's. I also agree you on Richardson too, I believe I have him at 9th on my top 10 Redskins big board. He can fit any system he is a beast. Helu is looking awesome but in this day and age a lot of teams have 2 good rbs that rotate in and Richardson is talented.

We have had alot of holes for 20 years. We need a Qb. When you have a good QB holes become miraculously filled. We need to fill holes with mid level free agents, like Ozzy Newsome does every year, so he can go into the draft and do what he wants.

Agree 100% I'm tired of hearing of all the holes we need to fill Before we take a QB. Time is now

Re: 2012 QB Prospects (Part 2)

I do want a quarterback. I said draft Luck, Barkley or RGIII if they are availaible.

But to trade into the top 3 would take a lot of draft choices, and I hate when teams trade away their next year's first round draft choice. This QB class is pretty deep and we could get a guy like Foles, Tanehill, etc. etc. in the 2nd round without giving away tons of our picks.

It's too bad our coaching staff doesn't have this kind of foresight. It seems like we're "reactive" to circumstances rather than proactive...
What foresight is that?

The foresight to plan Peyton Manning's neck injury to occur right before the season in which the best pro-prospect (who could have gone pro a year ago, after Manning's neck issue was already present) since Elway is going to be #1 overall. Come on Smoot. 2 days away from ESPN and you're already behind on this stuff?

My guess would be next years first and this years second to move from 6 to 2. It would be worth it to get Barkely. We will be fine, if he pans out. Just look at the Bears, with Cutler. NFC championship and gave a kings ranson for him. Our team right now would have been 10-6 if we had a real QB. We have a 1,2,3,4,4,5,6,6,7, for 2012 and for 2013 we have 1,2,3,4,5,5,6,6,7. Not sure if we have to give the Cardinals anything for Hightower. We would still be able to add a bunch of quality rookies. They would be able to help plenty if they keep drafting like they have the last two years. Riley, Williams(very underrated by Redskins fans), Kerrigan, Jenkins, Hankerson, Helu, Paul, Gomes, Nield and Hurt. I give them a A plus. So I say get us a QB. Get us Barkley, he is 21.

Re: 2012 QB Prospects (Part 2)

Owe Arizona a 6th for Hightower

And the 2013 6th from Minnesota was conditional and looks unlikely now

I never heard that the McNab trade was conditional

I am with you. I like Hurt and think that we need another RT to groom and we are set, as long as Kory L. comes back strong

We need depth. Look what happened when our starters got hurt on the line. We fell off the map....
