Lauvau is terrible. I was really disappointed we did not cut Lavau and either picked up a FA guard or draft a guard in the 2nd or third round.
Long is not playing much better recently.
I will add, I have not seen any of our TE's or Backs that are run blocking worth a damn either.
We are so built for the pass that we have over looked the run.
This has to change or else we are in for along season. Teams will easily defend us if we have no balance.
This is not a running back issue or lack of a good one.
This is strictly a blocking issue.

I even saw Scherff get too high on some of those short yardage runs.Let the defender get under his pads way too easily. Long too. I see that as entirely correctable by week 1 and I'm sure they will. Take it easy.

Riggins sd perhaps its bc our O line guys seem to be in a 2 pt and not 3 pt hands in dirt stance that is costing us in run blocking and having guys be to high.

I couldnt find highlight video of the Skins 1st team offense. id be curious to see if the first unit O line is in 3 pt for run plays.

Just curious, if we used three point stance for most runs and 2 point for most passes, wouldn't that be a major tell for opposing defenses.

Of course and that was my first thought as well. On empty backfield sets, the O line is always upright. For sets with a player in the backfield that could be run or pass, I havent been watching the O line for whether or not they are in a 2 pt or 3 pt stance. Im just relaying Riggins thought.

the Perine video shows almost always 3 pt stance for plays with a RB in the backfield. Without benefit of 1st unit O line video, Im assuming the 1st unit also goes to 3 pt stance when a player is in the backfield. Riggins thought may have no merit, and he was certainly speculating not saying it with 100% certainty.

Ty Nsekhe plays well every time he has had to start. I realize he plays Left Tackle and Trent Williams is the man. But why couldn't try Ty Nsekhe at guard?
He has got to be better than Lauvao.

Haha, actually IIRC Cooley is doing a pretty good job at pronouncing Roullier's name. But yeah we won't hear his name that much so I'll definitely miss PG ^^

If just knowing all the WR positions without having NFL ability is enough for Gruden, he should just sign Stephen Hawking instead. Hawking could learn the entire playbook in a brief history of time. Then he could be the nominal backup for every position.

There really does seem to be something with this. While I understand he CAN run every route and play all WR positions, he consistently does NOT deliver in games! And maybe now with new receivers that can hopefully block more so than Jackson at least, when Grant comes into the game it's not a 98% chance of a running play like the announcers of games used to joke about.
