Could it happen, maybe, but honestly their window is closing for a couple of reasons:
- Their core players are getting older.
- They are in a constant struggle between coach and GM/owner, for example if they are 4-4 at midway next year, there will be a lot of talk about Garrett being gone.
- TR as JR as said, is prone to a bad play at the wrong time, a lot of people look at their December run last year, but if you look at the end of the Cinci game, TR threw gift picks that Cinci defenders dropped. Had they caught one of those, the last game of the season would not have been a win and in game for them (i guess by my logic I am glad Cinci dropped those picks LOL).
- Finally, their salary cap situation for the next 3 years is very prohibitive and they will be forced to let players that are important to their team see FA rather than re-sign them. For example Sean Lee is a free agent after next year, and 35 of their currently signed players hit some form of FA in 2015, including Dez Bryant, Demarco Murray, Tyron Smith, and right now they are at 135M(FOR 21 players!) for 2015, even assuming TV money kicks in, they are going to be restructuring forever at this rate.
So, if they struggle this year, Garrett will get canned, and the new coach will have Romo, and a hellacious salary cap to deal with.
That puts alot of win now pressure on Garrett and Romo. I am hoping that I will be loving it.
for those who are curious, we have 30 contracts for 2015, totaling 99Mil
