The 11- 10 million number was being asked by his first agent, he no longer works with him, he and Eli now have the same agent.

Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013
That is not a good thing for the Giants because I am pretty sure Eli is going to get paid around 20 million this upcoming season, so obviously this agent knows how to get money for his players.

If we are reading tea leaves based on agents... Cruz accepts the one year tender and then next year... Garcon on the outside with Cruz in the slot and Davis lined up at tight end. Santana is gone next year so the need for a slot receiver is there. Morgans contract voids next year iirc plus he is due big money anyways. Morgan and Santana cover the cost of Cruz. Same money plus an upgrade at the position. But, as we all know, reading tea leaves based on agents is pointless. |

If we could afford him, I'd want a clause put in the contract that he loses his game paycheck if he does that stupid dance.

(Taking cruz away from the Giants and putting him with RG3 would be incredible)

Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013
Thank you. RBs and WRs = get them young and cheap. Our Offense produced even when Garçon and Davis were out. We don't need overpriced free agents. The Giants got great value for him, as he was an undrafted free agent. We should look to do the same.

there are a LOT more between those guys, but none of them were any good either. sometimes finding the talent isn't that easy, hence why FAs have a market above league minimum. garcon looks like he's worth it, and we're making out on the morris pick, so it can even out, but luck can be fickle too. |

Cruz, another amazing story of huge production from a UDFA after spending a year on IR. We have been looking for someone other than Santana Moss for years, we are finally starting to get some now but we had to sign one to a big contract and the other to a big contract. Next year as we currently stand we are back to just Garcon. Mike just needs to find the next Brandon Marshal (without the mental issues pleas), Elvis Dummervil, Ryan Clady, and a bad man at FS in the draft then we are set to hoist Lombardisss... lol

Shanallen put a premium on character. I don't think that Rolando McClain will pass muster on this count.

Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013
I agree with you, but after last seasons 7 game win streak I think we have strong character guys in our locker room to mold these low chararcter guys. Our Captains, got guys to beleive 1 game at a time and we can do this.

You cant just cut everyone that screws up once such as Davis and Williams (they seem to have gotten it), but we arent talking about that with Tokemup Jackson. He came over with a ton of baggage. He was already at the gone indefinitely with the option to appeal in 1 year for another failed test before we signed him. |

No one was reading anything, just an explanation .Cruz will sign a long-term deal with NY in the 7 mill a year range ,they still have to pay Nicks next year, Cruz has too many things going up in NY to leave and start from scratch. In DC the media darling is RGIII in NY it's Cruz.
