Nor can we see who everyone is picking as a winner who will end up flopping. So what we should just get rid of predictions as a whole right? No one should predict anything right?

No one is arguing the giving up of predictions altogether. But by your own logic above, any prediction made on April 18 (rather than waiting for August) is foolhardy.
