Well you need at least 5 active, usually 6 on the roster.

You kinda have to think about the future as well with the cheap acquisition of a player like Royal. Moss is gone at the end of the season, Royal could slide into his most effective position at the slot. Also kick return experience, another weakness of ours. Back up slot receiver is a need and getting Royal on the cheap would be a win imo.
