Bucs vs Skins Gameday Thread

Must-win game tonight!

What I'm looking for:
1) how is Brandon Meriweather?
2) our plan for a punt returner
3) the development of Tom Compton, who may play a big role for us this year

The Battle of the Scrubs!

Not planning on seeing many starters play, that much is probably certain.

why dont the skins use either hall, or moss to return punts? i know, cant risk the starters getting hurt. i say blah blah blah. put your best out there

Gotta see if any young'uns will be able to cut and go on the returns. We know Moss and Hall could if called upon, but maybe someone will step up.

Too risky.

Why not just put RG3 back there? I'm sure he could be a hell of a returner.

Who plays slot when Moss gets hurt? You know you know but you don't care?

I'd rather have an average punt returner and a slot WR that can beat a nickle corner than a good returner who then gets hurt and you're stuck at PR and slot.

I agree. In the past, we needed every yard we could get regardless of where it came from. With our offense now, those extra yards on special teams arent as important as keeping the offense intact.

300 yards passing? At 3.8 YPA, it would take no more than 80 attempts. Seems feasible to me...I wouldn't complain if it happened, though. Then maybe some deluded team would actually offer us a draft pick for him. Although, that's not likely, since every team knows we'll release him.

I hope Skye Dawson explodes as a punt returner and makes the team keep him. 6 WRs seems unlikely, but he's been the best so far...

I think he could be good. But he also reminds me of Brandon Banks. That's kinda a good and bad thing.

In my opinion, Dawson is quite a bit better than Banks. Dawson is doing the best so far as punt returner, while Banks was very indecisive. Dawson also runs sharp routes and has good hands. Santana Moss is 34 years old. Granted, he's still ballin', but eventually he'll need a replacement in the slot. Dawson could be that guy.

I could see it happening. Has Dawson gotten any throws in pre-season? Banks started off well and then tapered off and he also couldn't catch worth a damn.

It'd be great to have a little speedy Welker type in the slot though. I'm feeling you on that.

Re: Bucs vs Skins Gameday Thread

I need to find this game online somewhere so I can watch it here in KY. I don't want to pay for NFL.com's preseason package for the 4th preseason game.
