Re: Redskins Lions postgame
I think i'm the only one who likes the current Regime. I can go without Haslett, as I enjoy a defensive cordinator who is aggressive and mean. Who likes to show it on the sideline with his team and encourage them to be beasts.. Haslett kinda seems like the most calm D coach iv'e ever seen. I never see any type of expression on his face. If I was him and the defense was missing so many tackles.. I would be throwing a headset and clipboard, and grabbing my players showing them how to tackle lol.
I enjoy Kyle, and really feel like the offense moved the ball really well today. We had a INT on a good drive, a Fumble, and another FUMBLE after we dropped a 50+ touchdown. Just seems we left a lot of points on the field today and to blame Kyle or Mike for those errors when the game was called pretty well is really off point. One thing I did enjoy was the man coverage we played today that I haven't seen all year. I remember one case where it was 3rd and 5 for Detriot. Kerrigan showed blitz after lining up over the slot, and when he blitz the safety came up to man the slot forcing Stafford to delay his throw and ended up under throwing him.. I wanna see more man coverage. I would rather be burned in man coverage then give up chunks of yardage in the zone. I know Seattle plays heavy man coverage and it works glorious for them because they have physical corners. I feel like Amerson is the first step to being one of those physical corners. He played pretty good today, and proved he was worth the pick. Jordan Reed also looked fast and sure handed. Guy made forget all about Fred Davis, and made me realize that Paul could be on his way out next year once we start building some more cap.

Re: Redskins Lions postgame
If your hearing Bowens name a lot then he's not doing his job in the 3/4. It's not his job to get in the backfield and make huge plays. Although it helps when he does sometimes, when the ball has commited to his side.

Re: Redskins Lions postgame
Tell that to J.J. Watt, who also is a 3-4 DE. 3-4 DE's can make plays...but Bowen hasn't.

The year Tebow played, they won the division at 8-8. That division was pretty bad prior to this year. Even so, its mainly Denver and the Chiefs this year, and the Chiefs were actually a talented team last year based on how many players went to the pro bowl. You also dont ever acknowledge the shape of this team prior to Mikes arrival. Old, terrible, and in horrible cap shape. Even without the Haynesworth and Dhall contracts that got us the cap penalty, we would have still been in terrible cap shape. Since not only would we still have their guaranteed money to deal with, meaning we wouldnt have been able to cut them, we would have been dealing with their annual salaries on the books as well, since we wouldnt have been able to cut them. That means even worse teams talent wise than getting the guaranteed money into the uncapped year and dealing with almost 19 mil less cap space that most teams. Mike did not take over a team with good players that couldnt get it done under the prior coaches, such as San Fran, Seattle, and the Chiefs. He took over a train wreck. The assumption that anyone was turning this team around in a couple of years is a joke. About the only one who could have done that was Gibbs, and if we are basing firing a coach based on being as good as Gibbs, then 30 HC's in the NFL are being fired this year, maybe even all 32. Am I going to cry if Kyle or Haslett get fired? No... But to continue to claim that this team was a Super Bowl caliber team when Mike arrived to continue your notion that its all Mikes fault is laughable at best. But then again, you havent said anything else since his arrival, even after they won the division for the first time since 99' last year. |

Tough loss today. Can't help but think the Skins beat themselves. Too many turnovers/mistakes. Next week is officially must win territory.

Re: Redskins Lions postgame
So SS, would Mike fire Kyle midseason? Or will we be hamstrung from Shanahan family bickering all year?

Re: Redskins Lions postgame
What are you talking about? If the NFL said F this and paid every player the minimum and everything else was performance driven, you would have a much better product. I am not talking about replacing any players. The NFL is a corporation with individual franchise within the corporation, but it is a corporation. Corporations are shedding jobs and forcing those employed to work harder for their money, so why can't the NFL do that with the players. I am sure the owners would love that, and so would the fans. It just might cut ticket prices and give you more bang for your buck. Seriously now!!!!!!! These players that are raised in the hip hop culture have no incentive to win, when a huge sum of their $$$$$$$ is guaranteed upfront. They are one track minded, and that is $$$$$$$$$. It is a guy who is regularly screwing a girl who wants to get married. The guy doesn't have any incentive to walk down the aisle since he already is getting his. The NFL product is mediocre anymore. Why do you think the networks go over the top with the hype machine with it? The game should sell itself like it did in the 70-80's with minimal hype, except during the SB.
