Re: Redskins Lions postgame
I don't understand the change in off either, we are now a pass first team

Re: Redskins Lions postgame
I put too early to tell either way, but thats only because the rest of the NFC East doesn't seem to be very good (although Dallas is clearly the best right now).
My expectations for this team are now about zero; so we'll see. Not giving up on them, but don't really have high hopes either.

Unlike the Giants who got worse and old at many key positions (RB-worse, OL-old, DL-old, LB/secondary-worse) we have potential for this not to be a lost season but it has to be with a win in Oakland and a win after the by at Dallas.

Re: Redskins Lions postgame
And can someone tell Fletcher to stop showboating after he makes a routine tackle? Dude your defense is the worst in NFL history, just go back to the huddle and get ready for the next play.

this is the prime example of how much PS really doesn't reflect anything

Re: Redskins Lions postgame
RGIII after the game.
“It’s the rule. It can be a sucky rule, but it’s still one of the NFL rules, and they said it’s a fumble. So, it’s unfortunate, and I’ve just got to make sure if I dive forward, hold onto the ball. … It was really unfortunate that we lost the game on two calls, two judgment calls.” Hey, dumb ass. Its not a judgement call its a rule and you fumbled the ball. Maybe if you spent more time reading the rules then doing every interview to talk about yourself you would have known. |

Re: Redskins Lions postgame
D played significantly better this week. If the offense had scored more than 1 TD, we would have won.
After the Oakland game, we'll be getting a fresh Jarviis Jenkins and Rob Jackson back...HUGE additions. I thought Hall did a good job on Calvin Johnson, who only caught 7 of the 13 balls thrown his way. Amerson is improving a lot and had some nice pass breakups. Safety is still a problem, but I prefer Josh Wilson back there to Biggers or Doughty. If Hall wasn't on CJ this week, we may have seen him at FS. That's something I'd love to see, he'd be a lock for a pick every game if his job is to attack the ball in the air rather than playing one-on-one. The single play that killed us was Aldrick Robinson's near-TD. That would have locked up the game, despite it being only a 4-point lead. We lost all momentum on that one. Griffin is improving every week. He had several nice runs and is getting down or out-of-bounds. He doesn't look like he wants to or CAN slide feet first though. That fumble would not have been a fumble by rule if he had done a proper feet-first slide. However, despite a good game despite 2 miscues (fumble and the ugly INT), Griffin SHOULD NOT BE THROWING THE BALL 50 TIMES, especially in a close game that we were never out of! Maybe they're intentionally suppressing the run game plan to develop Griffin as a pocket passer while he shakes off the rust? It would benefit him and the team long-term, but short-term it will be tough for fans to watch. I really believe we will see a lot more success on both sides of the ball after the bye week. Griffin will have 4 games in, our defense will get its reinforcements and hopefully the rookies Amerson and Rambo will be catching up to the speed of the pro game. Griffin is improving every week. We need to ride this out. If we bench him, we'll do harm to the team and his relationship to it that we can never fix. He's our franchise and we need to allow him to get back to what we all know he can, and again will be. He's physically fine. He has some issues with mechanics, timing and maybe even game speed. Remember, this is only his second-year. He's already done more in his short career than a lot of QBs drafted do in their entire career. If we had waited until Week 6 to bring him back, we'd probably have to suffer through the exact same transition back into the game, only lasting a month later into the season. It's best that we started him Week 1 and get the whole team in synch with him as early in the season as we can. Besides, we're still not out of the race for our division. Dallas has 2 wins but they are Dallas. They'll collapse like they do every year. Philly has been figured out and Michael Vick is limping by the end of every game. He won't last much longer. The Giants are a bigger mess than us. We're 2 games back in a division that is still anybody's this year.

But, I guess we have to be realistic. The cap penalty has done it's job in hurting the progress of this team being rebuilt - namely the defense. At least the 'skins were able to bring in a good group of guys on offense before the penalty. But, we're seeing the result of the penalty on defense.

Next year, we're going shopping big time and we're in great shape considering the penalty. Allen and Shanahan handled it the best they could have. They tried addressing the holes through the draft that we should have been signing the top FAs to. It's all they could do.

Re: Redskins Lions postgame
RG3 is the 20th rated passer folks. 20th. But yet people spewing that garbage he is fine. 20th rated passer is not fine. Not at all. Dont bring that garbage again this week.

Receivers dropping passes has a lot to do with that.
