Who would you like to see as our next HC? Do you think Danny still wants big name or flashy types for HC? Would Danny ever hire Lovie or a guy like him?

Re: Redskins Lions postgame
I was wondering if he decided to dive rather than slide because he is wearing the brace. I saw a couple slides this year where it appeared that the brace could have caught in the turf.

I don't know who. Haven't given it that much thought. One guy I think deserves another chance is Perry Fewell

I like the idea of Lovie because he always knows how to build a defense. Saw stats on his defense with the bears and it's just amazing. And he's a disciplinarian type, something this team needs badly.

Re: Redskins Lions postgame
If we lose to Oakland or Dallas, do we part ways with Haslett by the time he enters the locker room?
We obviously are going to rebuild the team. What would it matter to axe him since the season is over b/c we aren't going 12-4 or 11-5? This sucks. It has to be decided who's in who's out. Losing Mike shanahan would add to the years left of agony. It has to start with Haslett, but honestly Kyle isn't trustworthy to me b/c his success is based nothing on his abilities. More horrifying is that if mike really cared about winning something more would have bbeen done. How do you ever bring your son to work day in the nfl and claim your in it to win it? |

Re: Redskins Lions postgame
I know. Though I bet Lovie would work with just about anyone the FO chose for OC and probably give that person a lot leeway. This is a scenario where I'd give Kyle another year in the org.

Re: Redskins Lions postgame
Watching the Bears last night reminded me of how I would hype up Marc Trestman to other fans. Its too bad he isn't a coaching candidate. Offensive genius, that would have put RG3 and Morris in a very balanced offense that can succeed.
People still don't get it that changing to a 4-3 defense fixes 0 NOTHING ZILCH ZIP NADA. The 3-4 is a better defense in the league anyway because it gives you more flexibility and options blitzing. The reason our defense sucks has nothing to do with the scheme. It has to do with not being able to tackle. We could have 12 guys on the field, it still wouldn't make us better because we can't tackle. Another problem with our defense is that we don't line up in our base defense often. How many times this year have we lined up with 3 DLineman, 4 LBs and 4 DBs? Not much, we play to our opponent as opposed to our opponent playing to us. If you watch how the Steelers (whom we base our defense off of) defense plays, it will line up more in base causing offenses to adjust to it. When Pittsburgh won the super bowl a few years ago, I remember their defense being so dominate that offenses would play to it with its personnel, audibles, protection. When the Redskins play, teams say "oh they have 6 DBs on the field, they suck, lets throw it to ______, because they can't stop him." As far as solutions go. I would fire Haslett at the Bye, give Raheem the DC duties to see how our defense responds after 12 games. If Raheem isn't good, fire him get Rex Ryan or hire Kevin Greene from GB (I think he'll be good), if neither of them come, typically the LB coach from a good 3-4 Defense are the best 3-4 DC candidates (Ron Rivera could also be a candidate). I would also tell Mike to retire. Go young, get Kyle to coach. If Mike doesn't retire, let Kyle hopefully walk away with a Head Coaching position elsewhere so it doesn't look like we 'fired' him should he decided to come back and coach us one day in the future (I'm referring to a Gregg Williams bad break up; keep that from occurring with Kyle). And now that we have cap money next year, I'm offering Orakpo a $6 million a year deal as a take it or leave it kind of deal. I'm giving Trent Williams a new contract extension. I'm also going hard after Jarius Byrd and Aqib Talib. We need a safety and a CB badly. Those guys can flip around our secondary from bottom of the league to middle of the pack at the worst. Then I'm drafting MLB's, RTs, and pass rushers all throughout the draft. Already looking forward to next year folks

Re: Redskins Lions postgame
All this talk about firing Mike and Kyle makes my head hurt.. It's like Week 8-10 last year all over again.. Some of you guys are so see-saw it's ridiculous.

Re: Redskins Lions postgame
I would like to see a defense change at the Bye though. I'm not one to take on coaching changes lightly, but we are on pace to give up 8,000+ yards this year and this is the second game in a row that the offensive players on the other team said they had no worries about our defensive scheme, and we couldn't adjust.
