Re: 2013 NFL Uniform Thread - Nike Making Changes
Yeah it would look better with that facemask, they would need to match up the burgundy a little better too. Up close the helmet and jersey clearly didn't match. From a distance it's not too noticeable though.

The one helmet rule is killing the throwback stuff.

Re: 2013 NFL Uniform Thread - Nike Making Changes
Why on earth did they take he field with the regular helmets?
Still, found out we were wearing throwbacks before kickoff and was pleseantly surprised. Robert doesn't wear the knee brace during warmups. Pierre, royster and Alfred carpooled whih I thought was cool. Alfred doesn't sign pictures or portraits. Garcon doesn't seem to sign ever |

We could have switched out for the black facemasks from the leather helmets too. Chicago swapped on gray masks earlier this season for their throwback uniform.

Re: 2013 NFL Uniform Thread - Nike Making Changes
Certainly looked a LOT better than in 1994.

Re: 2013 NFL Uniform Thread - Nike Making Changes
Monkey brought this up earlier, but I was thinking the same thing after the game was over... WE FINNALY WON A GAME IN A THROWBACK! I think this is the first time ever.
You guys are right with the colors being mis-matched. It almost like the helments are burgundy and the throwbacks are maroon or something. |

I loved the '94 throwbacks but yeah, the ones we wore yesterday are better.

Re: 2013 NFL Uniform Thread - Nike Making Changes
I don't know who comes up with the decision on when they wear their throwbacks, but they look sharp. Glad we could win with them. Not having the leather looking helmets kinda sucks though. They did the best they could with our modern helmets, but they are not the same. The old gold is more of a bronze than the yellow and I really like it in the numerals.

Yeah I'd rather go with those colors as well, I like the pants. No more yellow. or gold...
I wonder what color we'll be when we go back to the BRAVES?

Re: 2013 NFL Uniform Thread - Nike Making Changes
It would have been cool if they changed the stickers on the helmet to match the logo on the sleeve, that might have tied it together a little better. but over all i liked it a lot especially the decision to take the stripes off the helmet.

Re: 2013 NFL Uniform Thread - Nike Making Changes
Yeah, that's NOT happening. Ever.
Besides, these idiots have whined about the Atlanta Braves too. I remember how their heads about exploded when the Braves and Indians both played in the '95 World Series. Ha...

Re: 2013 NFL Uniform Thread - Nike Making Changes
I haven’t weighed in on the subject yet, mostly because I think it’s a non issue, but in my opinion people are too hung up on labels. I can only speak from experience, growing up I was the “fat” kid amongst my friends and even though it’s not a racial slur it was still a label. After a while I owned that shit and I didn’t let it offend me. In a society where the term “Jew” and the mother of all racial epithets the “N” word are accepted as a derogatory and a endearing term why isn’t the term “Redskins” held to that regard? I’m shocked that Snyder with all his money has yet to hire a PR firm to face this issue head on, instead he puts these press clippings out there that only make matters worse than they are. The organization needs to prove the opposite, let me repeat opposite of what Hitler did for the swastika. The swastika was a symbol of prosperity for thousands of years before Hitler used as a symbol for his army and made it the most negative symbol in the world. Unfortunately in these times with all the media outlets this issue has become bigger then it has ever been and Snyder might eventually blink and change it, I certainly hope not but you never know.

Re: 2013 NFL Uniform Thread - Nike Making Changes
I LOVE these uniforms. Yes, there needs to be a few tweaks here and there, but otherwise I think the Redskins need to consider changing to these uniforms full time.
