Re: Skins Viks Postgame
The good news is that if we can get some competent leadership in the building under Bruce Allen, this team could turn around very, very quickly. By 2014.
The problem of course is that this is almost exactly the same situation as 2006 (turned around immediately), and 2009 (not so much), so there are no guarantees. Joe Gibbs/Al Saunders/Gregg Williams got the Redskins on track and didn't waste any time. Mike Shanhan/Kyle Shanahan/Jim Haslett spend all the time, didn't really change the situation any.

I wonder if there's any more money we can give Larry Johnson to turn this season around.

I still would be willing to give Shanahan another year in theory, but we should all know there's no realistic way to make this a good ending for him. Sure the play-calling on offense improved the last couple weeks but it's far from excellent and any HC content with the big picture over the last four seasons doesn't deserve another chance. By my count we should have scored a minimum of 42 points on Thursday. Piss poor playcalling/execcution in the redzone and the mid field play where RG missed Moss wide open for a touchdown, those things keep happening over and over and over. Same with the defense. Mike might fire Haslett and Burns, but that shouldn't be enough to keep his job. And he's not going to send his kiddo packing with nowhere to go. So yeah, it's reality day for the whole coaching staff with Morris being a possible exception.

Re: Skins Viks Postgame
I don't think a lame duck Shanahan year would be the worst thing (it may be the worst thing for RG3, however), but once you strip him of all his power and bring in a personnel guy over his head...what exactly is the point of keeping him? Save some money, I guess?
The cool thing about owning an NFL team is that Dan Snyder gets an infinite amount of chances to try again and get it right. Time to try again. Third time is the charm...but what about the third-third time?

Not sure who you quoted Tripp, but I also want to say this....
Whether the players are underperforming or not good enough....well that falls squarely on the same people he is referring to. |

Re: Skins Viks Postgame
And what about ST and D? They also need to do their part, I'm more worried about this than RGIII.

Re: Skins Viks Postgame
Does anyone know who the UFA's are for 2014? I would like to see us really go after some O-linemen. These undersized guys that Shanahan prefers don't seem to hold up well in pass pro.
