He should be gently encouraged to retire while being assured that he will join other Redskins greats in the Ring of Honor.

If he doesn't want to retire, then he should be informed that he is not in the team's plans for next season.

I can't imagine how hard it must be for a great football player who loves the game to retire. Many great players didn't know when they were done and played their final seasons on a team other than the one where they achieved their greatness. Art Monk (Jets) is one example.

Not to derail but does Fletcher (or anyone from the Snyder era for that matter) deserve this honor? Are we celebrating individual career achievements on multiple double digit loss teams?

I'm not dead but this team is dead to me...but now that McCloughan is here they may have new life!

Jay Gruden = Zorny McSpurrier
Kirk Cousins = Next Grossman

I'd definitely call it an individual honor.

Absolutely deserves it. I mean he was on 3 playoff teams. Sam Huff was on mostly losing teams here

Definitely. Hall of fame maybe another issue but he should be in the ring of honor for the skins.
